Hello,

My GC that i received 2 years ago upon arrival to the US was a CR-1(2 years)  vs the IR-1(10 years). I was married for 9 years at POE to the U.S.. I don't know why i received the conditional green card and only recently did i even notice that my green card has expired. I decided to file for a I-90 application and check off 3d. Am i doing the right thing?? Any help will be grateful. Thank you!

Looks like you received the 2 year card in error. An I-90 can be used to correct an errors on a green card, correcting spelling of names, issuance date on the card and so on. Not sure just how to correct this issue you can not renew a 2 year green card with an I-90 application but you may be able to correct the expiration date and green card type ( conditional to not conditional) with an I-90 application with an explanation and evidence of your wedding date a copy of your marriage certificate.

A lawyer is not a bad idea to help you put.

If USCIS does not correct this issue you will need to file an i751 application to remove the conditions on your green card.
