Bringing a baby to AoS interview (and other related questions)

My wife filed her I-485 in November.  Part 6 asked her to list all her children, she truthfully stated that she had no children.

She gave birth to our son in July.

Her AoS interview is scheduled for early next month.

I have three questions.

1. Does she need to file any kind of supplement or amendment to her I-485, changing her answer to that question?
2. What documents should we bring about the baby's birth other than his birth certificate?
3. Should we bring the baby to the interview?  The scheduling letter asks us to bring proof of the relationship. The baby (who looks a lot like me) presented in person is pretty compelling proof.

However, the letter also says don't bring any family members unless they are part of the petition, and I know people are extra cautious about COVID these days.

Unfortunately, we have no other family members who could watch him, as my family all lives thousands of miles away. With the lockdowns and everything I imagine there aren't any day care type centers open where we could leave him. We could leave him with a neighbor, but that's a bit of an imposition, and would seem to violate government recommendations about staying at home and not mingling with people from other households.  Leaving a four month old baby home alone would be a crime, of course.

If we showed up with the baby and said "We didn't have anyone to leave him with" do we risk that they'll just cancel the interview on the spot and/or be angry about this?

I am interested about this as well! I had a baby in July and am still waiting on the green card interview. I am breastfeeding and just assumed I would bring my baby with me, I hadn't considered they would ask to not bring family. When I asked before about updating the i-485, people told me to just bring an updated i-485 to the interview with the birth certificate and baby's social security info. Curious to see what others say.

The interview notice she received in March (later canceled) said "You do not need to bring your children unless otherwise instructed"

This one says "You should not bring your children unless otherwise instructed."  I assume that's a COVID change.

The breast feeding angle is a good one.  And the updated I-485 is a good idea.

I'm wondering also if the children statement is referring to children immigrating? I think you might have to call the specific office where your interview is and ask, just in case they have covid guidelines there. I imagine they would be more accepting of a 4-month infant than say, an 8-year-old. Let us know what you find out!

1.  There's no supplement or amendment for the I-485.

2.  Bring a certified copy of the child's birth certificate to the interview.  This will help strengthen your relationship evidence.

3.  No reason to bring your child to the interview as proof.  You have a birth certificate as proof.

Should I bring a new I-485 that references the child?

Should I?

Not needed.  The interviewing officer will make any required edits to the submitted form

YMMV

Due to covid every office is putting up a safety measure. Thus the reason for the letter stating

My wife and daughter got their biometrics done last week. Me and my toddler wasn't part of the petition, but we went in with them. We had no one to baby sit and i couldn't stay in the car with the toddler. There was no complaints. All went well. We are looking forward to an upcoming interview.

Safe to say Go with the babies.

Pray this helps.

Goodluck to everyone in this process.

Wondering if anyone has brought baby to interview and has any feedback? Our appointment is 12/09 and we could cram my mother and another baby she babysits into the car and drive 5 hours round trip , so she can sit with out baby in the car for the interview but the problem is I have never been away from my baby more than 10 minutes and I breastfeed. She screams if I leave the room and she won’t take a bottle.  I’m worried they will cancel the interview if we bring the baby but at I don’t want my baby screaming in the car for an hour.

Recently brought a baby to an I-485 interview and it was a non-issue.   No one asked "Why did you bring the baby" or anything like that.

how was interview with baby, separate or together?

I also called to USCIS and ask them, they said most likely possible
