ah okay sorry because you said "wife".
They sent an email to my fiance to say that they have resume K1 visa processing.
and gave us the link to schedule an interview.
we received the email on 20th November.

I believe you will have to wait until they email you the P3 before you can schedule an interview.

@quayL84, it seem Jakarta recently resumed K1 visa processing.  They will schedule people who's interviews were cancelled due to Covid, then work through the backlog of people that were waiting since February/March (like @Lili_K).

It will probably take a couple of months or more before your case gets to the front of the line, unfortunately.

Thanks.

NVC does not send out cases to embassies until the request them. Some embassies, those with higher workloads, will take batches with some prioritizing within the determine which are sent. Until your embassy requests your file yours will sit with others. Once NVC sends your case to your embassy that is the time they will issue your letter. The best place to view the status for your embassy is at their website. Last, do not refer to your fiancé as your wife. If this were done in front of a CO at the interview you would have many issues to overcome that you didn't have when you were entering the facility. It is up to you to convince the CO that you are "free to marry" and not married currently. We have seen it go south in a bad way. Just our advice from experience.

The US embassy in Jakarta currently announcing is now processing K1 visa services, also start clearing the backlogs and sending notifications on the email for eligible applicants who were not able to meet their original appointment dates or received notification that they must schedule an appointment. 2 days ago, an applicant from Indonesia emailed them and they're now sending notifications for cases that was approved prior to April 2020.

So, you just need to wait for now because they're still a lot more who got stuck at NVC since April. ☺

Thank you for the information, it's just a habit to call her my wifey. I know i should not call her like that in front of the CO.

Thanks for the advice

Don’t let anyone at the embassy hear that. It’s a habit you need to get out of very quickly.

Yeah I thought so too 🙂

Patience is important during times like this. Try not to think too much about it, you will receive an email from the embassy when they are ready for you.

Good luck to you too! 😊
