I filed for my I-751 (divorce waiver) in May, in the middle of a move, a couple of days after I received my official divorce papers. I had a lot going on, and I just sent all my paperwork without keeping a copy for myself (probably the most stupid thing I have done in my life).

My interview is coming up, and they of course request that I bring all that evidence with me again, and I don't have most of it, because it was all sent with my original petition.

I guess I am looking for empathy and potentially advice, I have a plan to try and gather it again (as much as possible).

Thanks for being here, VJ

Gather what you have, and, if necessary in the interview, explain what you did.  I am sure this is very upsetting, but I am also sure it has happened before.  You don't need to mention it to the interviewer unless there is a question about a missing document.

Best of luck to you!

It happens, not a whole lot you can do about it now. The main reason the letter tells you to bring everything again, is for them to cover their a#$. Most of the time they will have all your stuff but sometimes stuff goes missing or they find something missing that they should have issued an RFE for. Having a full copy of everything can make the whole process easier if that would happen.
In the rare invent that stuff needs to be added during your interview, they will ask you for it. You than tell them you don't have it with you and they will issue a RFE and your file is on hold till you sent it in. Annoying but not too bad in the grand scheme of things.

You should be able to gather most stuff again I would assume. So learn from it and don't stress over it too much (than again the N400 would be the next time it comes up and that one does not require a bunch of stuff to begin with.

All the letters say that and while you should try and get as much as you can together, I don't think it's something to worry too much about. I've never made a copy of any petition I've sent and I didn't bring a copy of the exact documents I sent because I didn't make a copy and really wasn't sure. Nobody asked me for copies and I was approved with no issues.
