Ok. So my wife and I were filling out the DS-260 tonight and at some point it asks about her spouse (me) and I put that I was born in US but then it asks if I am immigrating with her? At first, since I live with her in her country, and have for a long time, I thought to answer yes since we would be going at same time; then it asked same for our child (A US citizen with CRBA) which I also answered yes.....but then that seemed wrong so I went back and changed to NO.  Anyone have any guidance on this?    I assume the answer is no since my child and I are already US citizens but second guessing makes me unsure.

The correct answer is no. Just had our DS-260 approved  we are in the same boat. Hubby a US citizen and living here in Canada with myself and US citizen son.   Awaiting our interview appointment.

A US citizen cannot immigrate to the USA. You might be traveling together but that’s not the question that is being asked. It asks if the spouse is immigrating, which you are not. So the answer is “no”. Likewise for your USC child, the answer is “no”.

Remember that the DS-260 is the same form for all manner of immigrant visa applications and that is why some questions are not applicable to your situation but would be applicable to others. The question about whether the spouse and children are immigrating is particular important for an F-4 sibling case, for example.

Thanks. Yeah, it seems logical to answer no but when it comes to the government sometimes logic seems to go out the window.

They tend to be very literal in their questions.  People tend to be more ambiguous.  Take every question as literal.
