Travel from London to Dublin to Chicago... lockdown and US preclearance time

I'm travelling home to the USA flying from London to Dublin then on to Chicago. Im a Lawful Permanent Resident of the US. Only two hours between flight 1 arrival at Dublin and flight 2 leaving Dublin. Will this be enough time to ho through US preclearance?

Also, with the current lockdown in both England and Ireland, does anyone know if I'll be asked at any point to provide proof my travel is "essential". I'm travelling home so I consider this essential travel.

There are no restrictions for LPRs travelling to US.  You should check your final destination US state to see if there are Covid  ravel restrictions, like quarantine or PCR tests.

You should be ok, the preclearance would be pretty quiet these days I'd assume. Hopefully your London to Dublin flight is on time, if you need to collect baggage and recheck in it might take a bit of time, but again, I'd say there won't be many people around..

*I'm a Dub and have travelled through there quite a bit, also a friend works in the airport and tells me it's like a ghost town a the moment.
