Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

The idea that healthcare is better in the US is a myth in my opinion.  Not only is it much more expensive, given that most other countries have free government healthcare, but technology, the latest drugs, and expertise in most countries, even developing countries, is often just as good as average care in the US.  Of course, if OP's friend's mother has plenty of money, top rated clinics in the US like the Mayo Clinic are excellent and have a tradition of doing fly-in surgeries and treatments, but the cost is incredibly high and caters to millionaires coming in from abroad.  Depending on the heart condition OP is referring to, the free care available in the home country is probably sufficient.  These are difficult family decisions, but it may be a better and more reasonable solution for OP's friend to just stay in her mother's home country if what she really wants to do is to help take care of her mother, or send money from the US to pay for someone to help her mother.

Perhaps Z's mother is independently wealthy? She could look at a B2 Medical if she needs treatment not available in her home country. That way she could be here pretty quickly.

She’s not. They’re middle class family. I guess USA is not a place for her then and yes, she could send her money too. I’m asking all these questions on her behalf.

I am confused with the reason about public charge; because personally, my grandparents over 70 qualify for all healthcare... so how will this public charge be an issue? They don’t even work....? My grandmother got her cancer treatment done and now she’s cancer free....?
can anyone explain me..?

Lol. No. Definitely not. She loves him a lot and they’re full of love. I said I didn’t know that tho. So my question for general knowledge was that. So I got the answer. Thank you for answering.

Totally agree.  Is your friend aware that her mother will not be eligible for medicare?  Everything, including premiums for private insurance, will be expensive and out of pocket for you

She didn’t know this. I told her

How do any of us know your grandparents’ immigration and work history? Impossible question to answer without information. But you can Google bankruptcy and medical costs and see what cancer and heart disease does to many Americans financially, even those born here.

No doubt your Grandmother had paid into the system, that is how most people manage it here and how they survive, still tends to require a fair bit out of pocket.

Very different situation here, Medicare is simplistically dependent on the beneficiaries having paid in, well you can buy in after 5 years for Part A but over $400 a month.
