ATLANTA (AP) — A hand tally of ballots cast in Georgia for the presidential race has been completed, and it affirms Democrat Joe Biden’s narrow lead over Republican President Donald Trump, according to results released Thursday by the secretary of state’s office.

The Associated Press declared Biden the winner of Georgia and its 16 Electoral College votes on Thursday, after the hand count confirmed the former vice president leads Trump by roughly 12,000 votes out of nearly 5 million counted.

The complete hand recount stemmed from an audit required by a new state law and wasn’t in response to any suspected problems with the state’s results or an official recount request. The secretary of state’s office has until Friday at 5 p.m. to certify the election results. The results that will be certified are the totals certified by the counties, not those resulting from the audit, elections officials have said.

 

Phew, i thought Biden had lost this one.. So close...... but it was a landslide, slaughter, pretty good shellacking and BY A LOT.

I cant blame Trump for letting it play out a few days, since there are some irregularities and it was so close. I do think he shuld within the next few days concede if nothing major changes, and for the sake of the country support a smooth transition.

 

My analogy is like a football game in which a couple of  close calls did not go your way, in the end if you had taken care of bussiness on the field a couple of calls would not have made the difference. It's over once GA certifies. Lets show some class and move on.

 

Also if I was Trump I would want Biden's Corona team in place ASAP and give them 100% control, cause there is nothing they can do any different. Get that monkey off my back.

 

All we can do is wait on the vaccine to start having its effect. The only thing Biden is suggesting is a national mask mandate, which will not work

 in close elections like GA and WI, then yeah do what you need to do, i never had a problem with that.

but the other stuff like what he tried in PA and MI and AZ were a bit too much and never realistically had a chance.

the thing is that, all he is doing now is undermining the same system that puts himself in power - when it did not go as he predicted it would go. 

 

and some of his staunch followers believed him and all of the lies being spouted. 

 

i would not expect to see "some class" being shown by this current admin, especially by the guy at the top. all he had been doing since he won in 2016 was to boast and mock his oppositions. And followers would continue to support that behavior with excuses like "See you don't understand Trump", but when the other side said "lets work together", that invitation was met with huge skepticism, man this is quite baffling.  

 

I want to see once everything is certified, if he would actually concede (with or without a speech). and we will see if there is a smooth transition.

But doesn't that say a lot about the judgement and character of a person that is supposed to be the leader of a country, when you are hoping that there is someone else sane enough to make him 'act like an adult'? He should be acting like a sane and rational adult without anyone's 'help'.

  The unfortunate side effect of firing everyone who disagrees with you and/or tells you things that you don't want to hear is that there will not be any adults left in the room when you actually need them. That is how we got to this point.
