Hey Guys!!

I actually started a similar topic to this a couple of months ago and I've also done a ton of research, but I just need one last round of confirmation before I go ahead and book flights tonight LOL.

Back story - I'm originally from Scotland, immigrated here on a K1 visa in June 2018 and now I am a Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder. It's been 1 year since I last saw my Dad in Scotland due to Covid (Gggrrr) and I just really need to get home and see my dad and family. I believe I will have no problem entering the U.K. because I am still a British Citizen? And I will also have no problem getting back into the U.S. again because I am an LPR? Can anyone confirm this?

I know I will have to quarantine in Scotland for 14 days therefore, I will be staying in Scotland for 15 days.

My next question - Can my American Husband travel with me to Scotland since he is my spouse?

I am going to book flights tonight for December 13th - December 28th!! Ahhhh so exciting! I will also be booking a busy route in order to ensure that I can definitely get on a flight! Thinking of flying JFK to Heathrow and then Heathrow to Glasgow.

Nope. No problem at all. Fly away ✈️

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Thanks so much for your response :)

I am very excited to book flights!! My husband really really want to come with me, so I think we are both at the point where we will book him a flight and if they send him back, then oh well - they send him back

Correct. London has some tips (the first one is optional in your case since you have Green Card): https://uk.usembassy.gov/information-for-nonimmigrant-visa-applicants-following-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak/

  • Do not attempt to check in for your flight online if you have an ESTA registration.
  • Arrive early for your flight.
  • Carry any documentation that you believe demonstrates why you have been excepted from a travel restriction, such as a Permanent Resident card (commonly known as a Green Card), a marriage certificate, or a birth certificate, so that it is available if it is requested for review.
  • You may also wish to carry a copy of the Presidential Proclamation itself.
  • Your status will be reviewed in consultation with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials.

Check with the UK government. The website doesn't say NO, but best to double check: https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control
