“So, the restrictions work and just to make it very simple: If you socially distanced and you wore a mask and you were smart, none of this would be a problem. It’s all self-imposed. It’s all self-imposed,” he said.

Then, making a comparison, he appeared to fat shame: “If you didn’t eat the cheesecake, you wouldn't have a weight problem.”

The governor’s comments were widely condemned on social media, with one Twitter user putting it succinctly: “If something does not work, it’s your failure for not complying. If it does work, it’s my success.”

Fox News reached out to Cuomo’s office with a request for comment, but did not hear back by publication time.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Nobody is arguing that it does not or is not. The issue was Fat Shaming.

Yep, how the leadership he provided helped defeat Covid in NY..... All the while shoving infected patients back into nursing homes to die and infect more people.

Homemade is the best.  I make a great cheesecake using Tollhouse cookie dough as the crust.  I have not made it in some time as I don't want it around the house.

On our 10th anniversary the wife made a combo blueberry and strawberry cheesecake with a cinnamon graham cracker crust.. I figured at that point I could possibly tolerate her another 10 years.

Among the desserts I enjoy making is a dark chocolate ganache cheesecake with raspberries. It may not be as magical as the Cheesecake Factory, but I think it's a good attempt. Surely it would even win Cuomo over.

Are you against fat shaming now, or just that Cuomo did it?

I hate fat shaming..... You see this in some bad gyms sometimes and it is INFURIATING.... If I see a obese person in the gym gettin it in then I try to encourage them no matter what not fat shame them.

    I do too.

I had a great conversation last year with a trainer at a gym who was once obese but now in great shape and a real health fanatic. He had a unique take and understanding of how difficult it actually is for someone who is obese and hasn't been excercising to get started and to stay motivated in a public setting. He said he just tries to make sure beginners stay positive and motivated so they want to come back for the next session and he tries to get in a routine with whatever they are capable of. After a few weeks natural progress takes over. He also said he hates how the typical lifelong trainers who have always been in great shape don't seem to understand that not everybody is wired that way. Many just tend to yell louder and it doesn't really work for people who have a difficult time being there in the first place. They often don't even come back. I rarely talk when I'm working out, but I do try to speak up and encourage people a little more since hearing that..
