Hi everyone, I find this forum the most useful and encouraging one to keep me positive over my wait for my family's visa. Hope to get some insights from you on my questions:

Visa type: F-3

Applicant: My husband. The application includes me as spouse, and our 1 year-old kid. 3 of us are already on DS260 form.

Status: Currently at NVC. We submitted everything on CEAC by 3 Sep 2020. Now waiting to receive DQ notice. Hopefully it would be reviewed by NVC this month.

Priority date: July 2008.....sadly stuck at the front of the waiting line, where the final action date has not moved for 2 months already.

Country we are in: Hong Kong

Question:

We are planning for the next baby. I believe, due to COVID, we may only be DQ by 2020 and interview may only come late 2021.

In the following questions, I assume we already achieve DQ status.

1. What if I get pregnant soon, and new baby is delivered before Letter of Interview. What will be the impact? Do we have to add the new baby in our DS260, submit scanned documents for the baby, and wait all over again to be DQ again? Will it delay our interview appointment? For information, it takes 1 month to obtain a passport for a new baby.

2. What if the new baby is delivered after the Letter of Interview but before the interview date?

3. What if the new baby is delivered after the interview date?

4. Actually, what timing of delivery would cause the least impact to our visa application? We have been waiting for years for the Visa but we also want to have this 2nd baby to come sooner.

5. Finally, assuming we get DQ by 2020, what would be a reasonable estimate of wait time until we can receive Letter of Interview under the COVID circumstances and Travel Ban this year? Is it that even if we receive DQ by 2020, we must wait for all the applications under Travel Ban since Mar 2020 to Dec 2020 to happen before our case can be scheduled for an interview??? Then should I predict at least 6-9 months for this............

Thank you very much in advance. The wait and unpredictability just disrupted a lot of our (and perhaps your) plans. But we try to prepare for the worst and hope for the best!

Well the ban must be lifted first.

You are asking for predictions. COVID is rising and the Travel Ban for your visa category still is on and no guarantee it will be lifted Dec. 31st.
