Hi,

I was wondering whether the I-693 form has to be sent with the adjustment of status packet (i.e. situation where adjusting status within USA) or whether you can wait until your interview with USCIS is scheduled and you can then see a USCIS approved doctor right before the interview? If I am correct, the I-693 has to be completed and signed by USCIS approved doctor.

If there was a previous forum discussion or immigration guide on this before, would be grateful if you could direct me there as I'm struggling to find an answer to this question.

Many thanks in advance

You can submit it later if you want: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-4 "Applicants may submit the Form I-693 medical examination report to USCIS: Concurrently with the immigration benefit application; or At any time after filing the immigration benefit application but before USCIS finalizes adjudication of that application. If not submitted simultaneously with the immigration benefit application, applicants may bring the medical examination report to an interview or wait until USCIS issues an RFE requesting the medical examination report."

You might get a courtesy letter:

It clearly says "DO NOT MAIL DOCUMENTS AT THIS TIME."

I would submit it now so that by the time my interview comes, the IO already knows my medical history.

Submitting it on interview may result in a situation where the IO finds a reason to delay your case as he now has to go over these new document.

Be advised, however, the I-693 only lasts 2 years from the date it was signed by the doctor. So should your interview be after 2 years+, grab a new one before you get there and hand it over to IO. But at least IO has familiarized themselves with your case.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
