A word of warning when using USPS

I just wanted to share my personal experience when trying to use USPS to send an application to USCIS. 

I am in no way trying tarnish the reputation of USPS, as I understand the restraints placed on them currently, but I do also know how vital these applications are to those of us going through the immigration process.

 

So I originally sent my application via USPS express delivery, and it ended up looping between two cities in the US for three weeks. After countlessly calling USPS in an effort to resolve this issue, there was no such luck. It was really difficult for me, as I spent so long on this application, and the package contained all of the personal information about myself and my spouse. 

Eventually, I had to make the decision to spend two days piling together a new application, and sent this overnight via FedEx. 

 

If I were to do this again, I would definitely choose a provider like FedEx first.

I have used USPS for everything (AOS, RFIE, Change of Address) and I didn´t have problems, all my documents arrived in a matter of two days. With USPS / UPS / FEDEX you never know. I personally don´t like FEDEX and find UPS too expensive, but with this things it´s like the wifi or cell phone companies, some people have luck with cheaper ones and other don't.

I always use USPS Priority Mail.....never had an issue.

I had an $800 phone stolen by Fedex employees a couple years ago.   Two low level employees and a supervisor were charged with theft.  That is my personal experience with Fedex.
