I have applied for F1 visa, after interviewing the visa officer said my visa is approved and gave me a blue leaflet, didn't say anything about administrative processing.

Here is a point to be noted, at the time of the interview I failed to provide my recent photograph, the photograph I provided is more than 6 months old . There was a person who initially check every doc , that person noticed that, I said as I didn't get enough time , hence I couldn't manage my recent photograph . The person said don't worry , u can submit that later.

Moreover, as I deferred my admission my DS160 form wasn't updated.
Here is another thing, in my country visa interview was paused for a long time due to covid, my visa interview is cancelled four times.  Suddenly the consulate  resumed their interview and I got a call from consulate to attend in the interview on same day , hence I couldn't update  DS160 and couldn't bring updated photograph.

When I arrived home , I got a mail "Please be advised to submit new photographs (2 copies) taken within the last six months, along with a copy of this email, at your pre-selected document collection center." On next working day , I submitted my recent photograph .

Now when I am checking my status in this link https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx , it is saying refused

This is the refused that is administrative processing, yes you are in AP because they are waiting for new photos. I know you said you submitted them, but it takes time for submitted documents to find their way to the right officer and then to the top of his/her intray. It's just been a couple working days it looks like? I'm sure it will be sorted soon.

Thanks for your response. Will it be a problem as I haven't updated my Ds160 . My I20 was up to date (for spring semester) , but in my DS160 it is still for fall semester

The DS160 is just the application, not unusual for dates to change from what is planned for those, it is the visa validity and i20 that matters now. If they needed a new Ds160 with amended dates they would have asked you at the interview, I am assuming they just changed the relevant dates in the system.
