I need to reschedule our green card interview that is supposed to happen next week due to exhibiting COVID like symptoms. However, when I call the number it just says to follow the instructions on the interview letter and the interview letter says to call the number. I can't for the life of me get an actual person on the phone. Suggestions?

Are you trying to contact the local field office or USCIS hotline?

I tried both. They said the same thing.

Bummer.  Yes, it is very hard to get a hold of them.  It won't let you press "0" to just push through an operator?  If you can't get a hold of them, is there any way for your significant other (if he/she doesn't have symptoms) to try to go to the office personally and explain the situation?  It could be a longshot, but it might be worth a try.

Even if he does not have symptoms he would still have been exposed so it would not be a good idea for him to not be quarantining as well.

Very true.  Then, just keep trying.  I do know, though, no matter what, DO NOT miss the appointment.

They told us to send a letter with a copy of the appointment letter stating why we need to reschedule.
