I spoke of this today on a show i watched earlier and i cant remember what it was but the subject was a group of kids that had traced back and found the donor that was used in their artifical insemination.

Seems many and alot of med students donate as a way to make money over time. In this case two women that were a couple looked in a book and read all donor xyz qualifications and traits and chose him. They now have a son they are raising together. One day the met another woman and in talking found she too had used the same agency and they ask what donor name/number. They were surprised when they learned she to had used the same donor. SO now their little boy had acquired a half sister.

In further checking if i remember correctly they also found something like 6 more brothers and sisters. In interviewing the donor who is now a dr he finally said there could be as many as seems like he said 200 possibilities. He will answer medical questions and saw pictures of the kids, the parents were made aware who he was but he felt no link as a DAD and also him and his wife had just had their own baby. Seems the wife knows all this and is ok with the outcome.

Now my thought, in most cases this information is never learned...so if two cases within a small area come up with at least two related kids unknowing, whats to say when these kids grow up and go to school, one day half the class maybe related to them and they will never know. Whats going to keep these kids from maybe starting relationships later in life? maybe your neighbor is also you brother/sister......

Those women did look pretty happy when they saw who their babies daddy was though!

Didn't somewhere just pass a law limiting how many donations one can make in the same city or something? So that siblings don't accidentally marry (gross)?

thinking i would move wayyyyyyyyyyy away from that area because now his REAL kids he and his wife have are going to be among those that you dont know for sure about....

It certainly has the potential to cause problems in the future. Hopefully in cases of a romantic development, the parents can all get together and have a quiet word....

thats true you dont just talk to your neighbor openly and say hey 16 years ago ....... and so many times now days the parents are for sure the last to know of this ROMANTIC development..time its developed its a little late to say son im sorry you cant date susie shes really your sister....

7-21 Missed flight

7-25 Docs recieved by embassy, visa all ready to go

7-27 Visa revieved

7-28 ARRIVED IN USA!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

waiting for AOS NOA

9-28 5 page RFE sent :(
