I recommend the state of denial. I find it nice there.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Washington State....oceans, mountains, rainforest. Close to Canada, close to Oregon, close to Vegas.

A very blue state though....if that doesn't appeal to you, don't come near. We're very granola, very much into ecology and environmental awareness.

Heck, I love the place!

Wife interviewed up there - but the company she was with was restructuring and didn't have a job to offer her. We would have been living near Seattle - NY/NJ was actually the least likely possibility for us - until she got the job offer (twice what she was making in CA).

Both of us really like Washington State - and its comparatively cheap to live there too..

Whatever you do, DON'T move to California! It's very expensive to live there, way too much traffic, smog, etc. And earthquakes! And fires! And floods! Oh my! And don't let me get started on the people; it ain't called "the land of fruits and nuts" for nothing.

On the other hand, it is a beautiful place to visit. You'd probably love to vacation there.

 That made my day.

Depending where you go - here in Central PA, housing, taxes, and cost of living is very low and it's lovely, rural and quiet so long as you don't journey into any ghettoy bits of towns :Phttp://www.juniatarivervalley.org/

Hello there

Just wondered if anyone can reccommend a good state to live in. My husband and I are planning to move once we get my green card. We currently live in Albany New York. We find the taxes too high and cost of living and homes getting more expensive I think we could do better elsewhere. I miss being close to the ocean so somewhere within 1 hour of the sea would be great. I love the look of New England been to Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire but visiting is one thing living there is different. Any suggestions would be great. My husband currently works for the state im not sure if he can transfer to another state job somwehre else or would have to start again does anyone know??

thanks

I can tell you that I really liked Austin, TX. Met a lot of wonderful people that have been extremely nice to me and very supportive of our relationship.

When Justin announced our engagement my phone didn't stop ringing until 2am with people congratulating us and asking me to cook empanadas* every week when I move there :P

Texas is cool. Only problem is all those Texans.

yeah, big problem with those texans...they go to other countries and make you fall in love with them by being the sweetest guy you ever met...just terrible! :P

oh, and the living expense seems reasonable and the job market is doing well too. and people wave at you in the street :)
