How to request a postponement of D-160 interview .

WE would like to postpone the interview date as it is in winter.
Anyone know how to do this in Kiev?

If the interview has not been scheduled, you can try emailing NVC and ask.  However, if the interview has already been scheduled, you should contact the consulate.

Seems strange to postpone an interview because it is in winter.  Petitioner presence for an interview is not a requirement and Ukrainians living there experience winter every year.

YEs though I am not required, we would like to do these things together. I have COPD and winter in Ukraine is not well for me.

I do understand your concern.  

Main concern us that of COVID, COPD and travel.

I fear they may not be willing to hold the visa for us.

Just checking on the form submitted. She submitted DS-260, correct? Because your posting history suggests IR-1/CR-1 process. If so, can you also update your profile. It currently lists K-1.

Kyiv is in the top 10 cities around the world with the worst air pollution.  With COPD, anytime of the year is not good for you.  Your wife can't get her spouse visa until she has her interview so I am not understanding your comment about "they may not be willing to hold the visa for us".  In another thread, you were venting how long the process was taking, since you filed the   I-130 on 9-10-2018.  The Ukraine consulate is quite easy for the spousal visa.  In fact, your spouse would be called up to the window and asked if you are there too.  If they want to ask you anything, they will call you up to the window.  Otherwise, you are not a participant in the interview.  The COVID case count continues to get worse in Ukraine and it likely to get worse before it gets better.  So if you are waiting to go to the interview together, you could be waiting for a long time.  I understand the apprehension about travel and COVID.  We traveled to Kyiv this summer and will travel back again in December.    In my humble opinion, you should have your spouse attend the interview alone and get to the USA as soon as possible.  For sure, she would enjoy the warmer climate of Florida in the winter.  The long Ukraine winters are very depressing and sucks the energy out of you after a few weeks.  Good luck in whatever you both decide.

i wouldn't suggest changing it though as it may get more difficult to get a flight here if the situation gets worse and either country shuts down air travel

I was postponing interview in Kyiv for 3.5 years😂 Embassy was very copperative. I just had to email every 6 month informing that I would like to postpone interview and will inform on the date when I am ready.
