Due to covid / Ireland being in lockdown yet again, I’m sure we are all experiencing delays when it comes to getting the interview. I was just curious what delays people have had? Those whose interview were canceled, have you received a new interview date? When was your case complete at NVC & when did you get that first interview that’s now pushed back?

Hi there! I was notified of my case being DQ on June 16th. We got an email on September 23rd scheduling our embassy appointment for October 30th.

Like everyone else waiting for a IR1/CR1 interview at the Dublin embassy, we were informed by email on Oct 21 that the interview was cancelled due to level 5 restrictions.

So we're still in the dark as to when we'll be rescheduled! We did get another email from the Irish embassy on 9th Nov which stated the following: "Our office recently postponed your interview due to the Irish government implementing level 5 restrictions across the country. Our office will reach out to you directly in the coming weeks with a new interview date and time.". Hopefully we'll be seen this side of the new year but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I have a similar timeline to @Dubliner77 except I was due to interview on 23rd of Oct. I was in contact with the embassy and they said that once level 5 is lifted they will reschedule the cancelled interviews. If you look at the embassy website and go to the visa section (https://ie.usembassy.gov/visas/) it now says that for level 4 and below that extremely limited routine services will continue. Which I believe is where they were at before level 5. This appears to be an updated communication on what they originally had posted.

Can you let me know when they reschedule your interview / to what day they do? :)

Hi there,

Email this morning from the embassy rescheduling appointment for this day next week, Monday 7th Dec! They confirmed in the email that they are scheduling first those appointments originally scheduled for October, then November and so on.

@hooley8 did you get a slot too?

Hiya! Similar to @hooley8 and @Dubliner77 we were scheduled (Nov. 3) and then canceled with the lockdown. We also heard this morning that our interview is rescheduled for Tuesday December 8th!

All good, said I should get my passport back within a week or so.

Interview itself was pretty straight forward, questions were standard enough to what others have reported. Nerve wracking all the same seeing as so much rides on it but the officer I had was very nice. Felt more like a quick chat than an interrogation. In and out in about an hour. Only documents they asked for were police cert, marriage cert, passport and the 2' x2' photo (I think that was all, still had everything off the check list just in case).
