So my EAD expires in Jan 21. I sent in all the renewal documents late October. The USCIS website still shows no acknowledgement whats so ever. I sent it to the right address and USPS confirmed it's been delivered. When should i start panicking?

I'll be starting a job in July 21 and I absolutely need my EAD by then. The processing time at my service center is 2-5 months according to the USCIS website but who knows with COVID.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, to be honest, you should have filed back in July, but there's no sense crying over spilled milk.

Due to high filing volume in October, I would expect it to take about 3-4 weeks to get the receipt notice. If it has been longer than that, then I would suggest talking to a live agent through Emma and asking them to give you the receipt number. If they don't have it yet, then try again in a week. If they still don't have it then, you could try re-filing.

there is nothing to panic here. you can try expediting when your current EAD is close to expiry. They might approve expedite based on job. its not guaranteed. By the way you can file renewal 180 days before current EAD expiry date

You're right. I definitely messed up. Is the receipt notice based on when my mail was delivered or when they happen to open my app?

Update: I got the receipt notice finally and it says it's processing. Online it says "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Emailed as of Nov 7th". NBC service center is Missouri which actually takes 5-7 months according to USCIS processing times. The case number is weird it's IOE instead of MSC it's being processed online apparently. Crossing fingers I get my EAD by June.

Could be good news. IOE EAD renewals are often processed very quickly, some in 4 - 6 weeks. No guarantees at the moment obviously, but it's the best you could hope for.

Thanks! Biometrics not needed is a good sign too right? I'm hoping that would save me some time as well

Update as of December 17th: Case approved, Card is being produced!

Congrats. Some of those IOE renewals move very quickly. Meanwhile, I'm nearly 4 months into my renewal application and have heard nothing (MSC case numbers), so count yourself lucky.

Thanks I'm very grateful. Hopefully I get my greencard before I have to do this again. Crossing fingers.

This is very stressful and anxiety inducing I can imagine, especially since we can't even call up USCIS and talk to someone whenever we want. Wishing you all the best as well!
