Hey everyone, i’m in process of obtaining my green card via AOS

In my AOS application, I also put that I wanted to obtain my social security number.

About three weeks ago, I received my travel and work permit but there has still been no sign of my SS number coming in. Is this normal? What’s the typical wait time and is there any way to check my status/process on this online?

Thank you!

Best bet is to make an appointment at your local SS office. They are allowing appointments for people that have not ever had a SS card. Take your new EAD AP card and fill out the Ss-5 form in advance ( download off the SS website) and go get your card. Waiting for USCIS to do it is hit or miss.
