We are ready to start the AOS after a k-1 visa. I've read copious information and I'm still having problem figuring out exactly how much I must send in fees for each of the forms. We are following the step by step instructions from this forum and doing the G325a ($0), I-864 ($0), I-485 ($325), I-765 ($180), I-131 ($170). Do I have this right? I send in $675 or did I read somewhere that the AP and the EAD are no charge when submitted at the same time as the I 485? Also is there a fingerprint fee of $70? What if my husband had a biometric finger printing done in Paris and already paid once?

Is there someone who has just recently sent this in and can tell me exactly how much I need to pay? Two separate checks?

We want to beat the deadline before the fees change.

Thanks so much

If you file before the fees go up, then send one check for the I-485 & the biometric fee (total $395), and separate fees for the I-765 and I-131 ($180 and $170 respectively). So that's three checks in total if you're applying for EAD & AP too - they won't become included in the AOS fee until after the fee increase.. And no, it doesn't matter that your husband had his fingerprints done at his visa interview - he'll still have to pay the biometrics fee & have his biometrics done for the AOS & EAD.

If you're filing after the fee increase... then these fees don't apply - the one fee for AOS will include AP & EAD as well (I *think* you'll still have to send the forms in, but won't have to pay the fee as it's included in the increased AOS fee... but someone else will be able to confirm whether I'm right on that - that part is, I must admit, just a guess!)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Yep, look at my signature.

Shows the new fees as of the end of July.

Where can I find this information where it says "USCIS Fee Increase Chart effective July 30th ....

(AOS + AP + EAD) $1010 ..its all inclusive when filing AOS. We were actually planning on getting EAD and AP soon after my husband arrives then later (need to save $) for the AOS. Is this even possible..or would we be paying the increased fees for EAD and AP.. then later still have to pay $1010 for AOS (which includes cost for AP+EAD automatically).. Still not clear on this. Hope I get a response soon.. We just need to plan & prepare early.

You can apply for the EAD and AP before the AOS...a few people do that.

But I cant do that until he is here in USA.. and that will definately be after fee increase... i just sent out I-129F.. From what I understand from posts and uscis info..

Increase would be as follows:

I-130 = $355 (IR-1, CR-1, K-3)

I-129F = $455 ($0 for K-3)

I-485 = $1010 (AOS includes AP and EAD)

I-765 = $340 (EAD) if AOS filed prior to increase

I-131 = $305 (AP) if AOS filed prior to increase

I-824 = $340 (Move the IR-1/CR-1 on to NVC in K-3 cases)

I-751 = $545 (Remove conditions on green-card)

N-400 = $675 (Naturalization)

Also with new "direct filing" (effective same time as new fees), those pursueing K-3 (after increase) will file I-130 and I-129F together in one packet and send to service center listed at uscis.gov. The increase of I-130 would equal $5 less than current fees combined (I-130 $190 + $170 I-129F = $360).. not sure if it will be faster or slower. Thats another issue.

Anyway this is what I gathered and understood. If info above needs to be corrected.. or info added..please reply/respond.

I was just really hoping to stretch out payments due.. and it seems the current way would have allowed that.

I'm not sure if you can apply for AP and EAD before AOS with the new fee increase as both of those are included in the price (I can't find a seperate fee for just the I-485 without AP & EAD in the new fees). Seeing as you've just sent your I-129F, you will be filing with the fee increase so I'm assuming you'll be applying for all three at the same time.
