How much do trips after the wedding count?

Hi everyone,

The title pretty much says it.  Of course we want to spend as much time together as possible, but I am mean specifically for the CR1 process,  after we submit the application package, will we get a chance to talk about those visits that we have?  I was thinking they can be mentioned in the interview and then if there is a RFE those trips will be referenced.  Is this correct?

You are the best!  Thanks in advance!

further trips to spend quality time together weigh in  a lot in the Casa embassy

the CO will ask "when was the last time you were together?"

spending time shows a committment beyond just applying for a green card

dont forget to add the spouse to 2019 tax returns (coming up soon)

that shows commingling of finances has started

The more face time prior to the interview the better is the general rule-of-thumb particularly with some consulates.  This along with comingling the marriage as much as possible when both spouses are currently separated can be helpful.

I have another question about adding spouse to tax returns.  I think this process will take a long time.  I read that it can take 7 weeks to get your ITIN.  From what I understand you submit the request for the TIN with your tax returns.  We are trying to submit our i130 ASAP so I don't know if it's worth waiting for the taxes to be completed in order to include it our i130 and evidence.  Is there a point later when evidence can be added before it goes to the CASA consulate or my husband should just bring it to the interview.  Can you clarify also exactly the evidence that I would include with the i130 related to taxes: is it the Tax ID number, the actual completed return?  Thanks in advance for your kind and patient answers with all these tedious questions!

You don't submit that until Step 2 of the process / when your NOA2  comes ,  you will get new Casa case # that starts with CSB,  then you will be asked for tax returns and supporting evidence

so,  there's a long way to go before the tax returns are needed /best to get the ITIN and be able to add him to 2020 taxes if you married in 2020

He will take copy of your 2020 taxes to interview (IRS transcripts are the best)

and no evidence of this at the application stage / this is all about ID proofs,  Marriage,  any divorce papers to show you were free to marry, and some photos and a few chats showing the relationship with a cover page saying how you originally met and 1st meeting in person (1 page ),  include # of trips you were together and any planned in the future

Thanks again, JeanneAdil!  Is there somewhere that provides a list of proof that we supply with what document?  I thought we had to provide everything with the i130 :)

Yes,  the guide portion of this site tells you about almost everything you need to know/ very helpful / just go to guides and check under spouse visas

and there is a lot of information from experienced VJ members about immigration itself

when it comes to interview ,  the Moroccan members have that experience

Thanks for the guide but actually I found it kind of confusing.  It doesn't tell when you need to submit proof of a bona fide marriage (although it does provide a list of what you can provide for proof.)  The sections labeled "At i130 stage" and "After i130" are confusing and don't seem correct.  For example, It says we don't need to submit photo of my husband at the i130 stage but according to the USCIS website you do at the time you submit the i130.  Maybe I am reading it wrong.

i don't know how much some things have changed but i provided profile page of his passport (had a photo) and his National ID along with birth certificate

and i think you need to send 2 passport style photos of him

but many things have changed so best to read the I 130 instructions

and yes,  going there to live is good for immigration /  may not be because of the covid issues and health care in Morocco as your health care insurance will not cover anything there
