Apparently the media can call the election and the result can be taken as a WIN (of course because the race was called to that side's favor)

Quote

Ivanka Trump has been blasted as a hypocrite for celebrating her father’s Alaska win but calling for investigations of states that he lost.

Ms Trump took to twitter to celebrate the state and its three electoral college votes being called for the outgoing president by media organisations on Tuesday.

Political observers were quick to point out that while Ms Trump accepted the Associated Press projecting the state for Republicans, she has rejected the same organisation declaring Joe Biden the president-elect.

“President Trump and Senate Republicans win Alaska, overwhelmingly and by a massive 20 point spread!” Tweeted Ms Trump.

is that based on statistics and number of republican affiliated voters in the area?

if yes, then how often the ballots coming from a heavy democrats area contain votes for republicans (which is one of the methods the "media" calling the election).

still, why would one accept the media calling the election since the standard cannot be used in other cases?

Which media outlets are the duly appointed media to make the call?  The same ones that paid for polls showing a plus 10 point victory for Biden?

About as often as they win Arizona.

Not sure that is a good comparison, not sure a lot of Californians are migrating to AK.

and again, why does that even matter? if the media uses the same standard to call the election, why some can only accept certain calls and reject others?

maybe you can answer, which media outlet that Trump and the team are comfortable to accept when the calls are made?

in this instance, Ivanka quoted AP. AP has called PA, and AZ for Biden, and majority of the senate seats (that both Dems and GOP had won), along with the whole race.

So can we accept AP calls then ?

Also are you saying that other factors can also be considered when making the calls? saaaaaaay people with heavy Dems inclination moving to other places etc?

I am saying that not all media outlets were saying the same thing, and in fact RCP just today (or last night) called PA for Biden.  I really don't care about Ivanka, my only concern is that we are relying on less than reliable biased news outlets to do something that they have no power to do.  When the states have certified their votes, then we can believe something.

can we use 2016, the year trump was projected to win the race, as a benchmark?

Any well known GOP people challenges all the calls made by the media during the election night in 2016? When the media called Trump, President Elect.
(this has been the way elections were done in the USA for ages, kinda surprised only now people want to say the media is not to be trusted and wait till states certified their result).

It matters what Ivanka use, as that is the benchmark that Team Trump could accept.

And someone here (team Trump) used Decision Desk HQ calls for Florida but then made fun of the media when the media calls for Biden winning the race.

Less reliable? according to whom? So far, AP's track record have been good (majority of the time).

Ultimately, none of it matters. The only result that actually matters is the certified result submitted by the state. We are free to speculate however we wish until that time. It doesn't alter the outcome.

At any rate, celebrating winning Alaska is like when a football team is down 35-7 and then starts celebrating a field goal. They are still going to lose. They probably should just focus on playing better next time.

i do understand until the result is certified, everything can still be challenged but using your example, is that all of the spectators saw the field goal, even in the digital replays, but then someone kept on harping "No, until the ref calls it, it does not count! It does not count! Stop the count! wait, count the score! oh wait Stop the count! " but goes about celebrating when their team scores even without the ref declaring anything. And back in 2016, not one of them disputed the calls made even without the ref calling it yet.
