And on January 20th, 2021 it will all be Bidens fault. Maybe it's because most people on here are not from the US, or had to deal with US government anything until now, but I have never seen anything fast concerning the US government doing anything. Unless it's to give themselves a raise in pay. That seems to process pretty quickly.

I know I was expecting a K1 to take a month or so, not the over 12 months it finally took. How I got to VJ. Never occurred to me US system would take so long.

The “old” gold star members have reached that level here because they have been in the process a long time. You’re preaching to the choir here about frustrations and long waits in this process. Some of us on this thread went through denials, having to star out all over again,  AP that dragged on for a year or more, and then there were the times when a straightforward CR-1 spouse visa took upwards of 3 years to process.

And it doesn’t stop when we get here. I’m in month 15 of waiting for my N-400 to be approved. And apparently I have at least another 2 months to wait. And I’ve already been “thoroughly vetted” by the government to get here in the first place. The N-400 should be a pure rubber-stamping process.

You just proved my point.  You totally looked past what the Manila Embassy did to us yesterday to live in the past.  Don't want to argue, but right now I don't want to hear war stories.

It got even longer under the Drumpf!

No, it didn't. It got alittle longer in 2017 because everybody started filing petitions to get right with immigration.

Haha and I can imagine how much everything will slow if he opens the boarders and lets everyone with an approved i130 in..

the administrative processes will be overwhelmed and of course PD will come back into play since we’re all here and suddenly the AOS process gets pushed out to 5 years...  oh and of course priority processing will need to be given to all the new arrivals 🙄 and asylum seekers..

And since asylum seekers don’t pay processing fees and are free to walk across the boarder with their entire family fee paying applicants will be expected to pay more and more and more thanks to the massive new free entry sign...

They were talking about having asylum seekers to pay a small fee for their petition but of course that was derided as being "unconscionable"

Does anyone else get the feeling that Trump secretly stopped all immigration until the election was over? These processing times and quite frankly the embassies blatant disregard for people’s time just doesn’t add up to me. People are working at these embassies but are literally doing nothing. I don’t know...just seems like something he would do. Maybe I’m reaching, but we all know how he feels about immigration.

Seriously? You had to come to this forum, which has been so useful to many people, to vent about your political views?

Wow...

Now Trump's fault because he's protecting the United States of America from illegal immigrants. Later, its Biden's fault for letting too many immigrants coming to the US that slow the petition process.

Do you think we ever blame the president while we did this process? As stated above, you only been in this journey for 4 months! Im telling you my dear you still have long way to go there's still NVC stage, medical and embassy interview.

Why don't you stay positive and stop blaming anyone. Instead, read more about the visa category you're in so that you'll know what to expect and you'll be ready for your visa interview.

Sitting around and blaming Trump for your 4 months in process is childish.🙄🙄🙄

You nailed it!

Honestly can’t wait for you to start the AOS process... if you think it’s slow now your gunna have a whole heap of fun when you get to the next stage..

patience is the key, some of us have been at this 2+ years and still no green card or EAD

Not just adjustment of status there's still ROC which is taken longer than visa and aos application. Other than wait time the fee is higher. So instead complaining and blaming Trump for OP 4 months in process op should knowledge himself about his visa category. 🙄

Last I heard it was something like $35 or $70 can’t remember which... but like you said it was thrown out by congress as being evil to think they should pay anything...... mean while... everyone’s else’s fees can only go one direction when there’s a massive influx of service to be provided.... processing staff don’t work for free

It was a $50 processing fee and a $490 fee for the EAD. People want to complain about the USCIS going broke while not saying anything about the huge increase in asylum cases which costs the USCIS money to process.

It’s not a race to the bottom. I’ve been on this forum long enough to have seen all manner of horror stories from various embassies and government departments. It’s not that I’m not interested in yours, I’ve seen everything here. Most of us have some form of struggle in this process, or a war story, if you like. We are not here for a competition to see who has had the most horrible experience. We are here to guide each other through the process.

Many people find it helpful to hear from others who have been through the process and who stick around to offer encouragement and answer questions. I’m sorry that’s not the case for you. Good luck on the rest of your visa journey.

I agree with you.  During all of this a little support goes a long way.  Please don't think I was trying to find fault with you my brother.
