Its called covid-19.   Very few k1 interviews have occurred since March.  They are backed up.   NVC is holding case files until the consulate resumes routine visa processing.

YMMV

Stay calm and Wait.  There is no other realistic choice.

Please fill in your timeline.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Not much you can do, if your embassy is closed.  Even if NVC sends along approved petitions, no interviews are taking place.

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

Our case has been at NVC almost 4 months due to Moscow embassy not being open. Do I need to ask for an extension? Or is that irrelevant since the visa is still at NVC?

A fiancé visa must be issued within four months from the date of approval of the fiancé petition by USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). If your appointment is later then the validity date, bring a signed and dated letter from your U.S. fiancé(e) stating that you both remain legally free to marry and that you intend to get married within 90 days of your arrival. E-mail or copies are acceptable.

9 FAM 41.81 N6.2 Validity of a K-1 Petition
(CT:VISA-2165; 08-21-2014)

An approved K-1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of USCIS action and may be revalidated by the consular officer any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States.

Get ready for a bumpy ride. Many here have been waiting for interviews since March, when embassies closed.

There is nothing one can do but wait.

Actually from a safety and health perspective, your better off staying in Jordan at this time.  The US situation is out of control now and getting worse by the day.  International aid organizations have now arrived in the US to help with the pandemic.  The medical center I work for has seen a rapid rise in COVID patients, much more than the April-May period.  The irony in all of this is that the US State Dept has made the decision to close the embassy in Jordan, but the same person who manages that department, is part of the team encouraging the US to remain open and not close. :)

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

Pfizer said they could produce 1.5 billion doses in 2021.  At that rate it will take 7 years to vaccinate the world

YMMV
