No doughnuts for me though at the moment, I am focused on my "gallon of water a day for 30 days" challenge.

  Actually they do look good. I try to avoid doughnuts, but if I look at that picture a few more times,  I might just fly out and get one myself.

Forgot to mention that I was stopped by a cop recently.

He swaggered to my car, shone his flashlight into my eyes, and said, "Yer eyes look bloodshot, Boy -- have you been drinking?"

I looked at him and responded politely, "Your eyes look glazed, Officer -- have you been eating doughnuts?"

  I ate a whole box of glazed doughnuts for lunch once years ago. I don't recommend doing that.  I thought it was a good idea since they were free. Still makes me nauseous to look at Krispy Kreme's.

This is justification for almost anything enjoyable, harmful, stupid, or regrettable.   

I've honestly never liked KK's products -- Dunkin, private bakeries, or even supermarket doughnuts are far better, I think.

 Masterpiece bakery maybe, but they have too many restrictions on who can eat their confections.

Once upon a time a Krispy Kreme appeared nearby. My dad struck up a friendship with the owner of the building, who decided instead of paying $s owed for some service rendered, he would supply boxes upon boxes of donuts, or as much as my dad could carry every week. At first it was a novel treat, but then it's insidious effects settled in, by the way of aching teeth and bad heartburn, followed by a sickening taste in one's mouth. With mom in the hospital at some point and my dad having no cooking skills except for somewhat raw eggs, my entire meal consisted one day of nothing but such a box. It came back up eventually, reminding adult me to never consume such things ever again.

 

I make my own donuts now, usually around the holidays if I can't be bothered to bake cookies.
