One of my sisters and my nephew also has it.

None of these people are doing well but there is no available beds for them. I will point out that once again some of these individuals took a rapid test that is being given out by a rural hospital known for incompetence. It came back negative. As their conditions worsened, all it took was a doctor with a brain looking at a simple xray to see the telltale signs. I really wish that hospitals could rely on the tried and true shove it up your brain test, because it really seems like the accuracy on other tests are subpar. If you are sick and get a negative, don't take that for granted.

My other sister still remains fine after her vaccination, apart from some joint pain she thinks. Some other employees did not fair so well and were hit with a very high fever, chills, and intense body pain.

My MiL in Russia has recovered from her Covid episode.  When she had it she was so sick she asked to be taken to the hospital, but they told her (at 74) she was too old to go.

My son had his second Pfizer vaccine injection two days ago and yesterday he texted me that he woke up at 4am with chills, muscle aches, and a headache.   Was doing better by the end of the day with Advil and Tylenol.

I have four coworkers that have received the 1st shot of the Pfizer vaccine so far, 2 men and a woman who I directly work with. The men were the ones complaining about the headaches, muscle aches, and fatigue while the woman who works 8 feet from me said that she felt fine. She said "they must be a couple of biznatches (explict word) because she didn't feel any side affects

I may not need to worry about side effects anytime soon

Vaccine reserve was exhausted when Trump administration vowed to release it, dashing hopes of expanded access

States were anticipating a windfall after federal officials said they would stop holding back second doses. But the approach had already changed, and no stockpile exists.

Yes the other employees were all better within 12hrs of experiencing the effects, so not bad. They have been stressing tylenol is better to take than advil. What's a few hours of feeling like crud vs death. I'm glad to hear your MiL is better now.

My therapist had her first dose today. She said she felt fine, but then had brain fog roll in about 20 minutes after. When I saw her a few hours after the shot, she said she was still feeling a little muzzy-headed, but that was it for her.

My friend who tried to offer me the hookup with some vaccine -- which I refused -- had his first dose this week. He has no business skipping the line, and what makes it worse is he had zero side effects. I think if he's going to do something [word I cannot use] like that, he should at least suffer a teeny bit.

As annoying as the side effects are, they are actually a sign of someone's immune system generating a good response to the vaccine. There are many people who only have minor symptoms, but if I had no side effects to both shots, I'd probably consider getting an antibody test done to see if the vaccine actually worked. Especially if I got the vaccine outside of normal channels.

I'm sorry to hear Yuna. I hope they recover soon.

One thing I'm vocal about is when we try to cut costs with a cheap product or equipment. We often have vendors come in with a price that really undercuts everyone else. The people doing the budgets really seem to like that, but they often have no clinical background and they don't listen when we say something is junk. Then we are usually switching to something else very quickly because those products can't deliver what they promise. The one thing worse than not being able to get the diagnostic information needed is having the wrong information from a tool that cant even give reliable results.

One of these persons works at a nursing facility and took the cheap test there as is the supposed requirement. I'm concerned about the level of exposure to the rest of the staff and patients. My nephew is in the hospital now, my sister is slugging it through, though it's hard for her to breathe.

Last thing I heard from my FiL was that he hadn't been able to get out of bed for a week. We don't have good contact with his parents as they aren't especially tech savvy.

Biden spotted maskless on federal property hours after signing mandate

President Biden faced criticism for removing his face mask while visiting the Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday night hours after signing an executive order requiring masks on federal property to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

"Wearing masks isn't a partisan issue – it's a patriotic act that can save countless lives. That's why I signed an executive order today issuing a mask mandate on federal property. It's time to mask up, America," Biden wrote on Twitter on Wednesday night.
