Actually, blood pressure went way far in the other direction, as measured this eve.  Scary way far.

However, correlation doesn't mean causation.

Just curious, I heard TX was already jabbing folks from the general public, are they still in the greater than whatever age window, or is it wide open for appointments now?  It seems that various states are doing a lot of different things, I heard Cuomo is putting out major fines if someone wastes any vaccine, or if someone jabs a person not on the approved list, but CA seems to be opening up a little more to the general public and possibly getting out of their politically correct standard they were planning to use.  I know here in MI, we are way down the list as to using the vaccines we actually have (even after our 'esteemed' governor complained about not getting enough), there is little information out here yet as to when they might be starting with the general public.

 

On a side note, I heard the second jab from the Moderna offering can be a bit worse than the first relative to side effects.

A friend offered to hook Alex and me up with vaccinations and I turned him down. I just couldn't, on principle. It's worth knowing I think that this person is well-connected and well off, and had no qualms about jumping the line. He's a little younger than we are, too, and in excellent health. The doses he offered us are better off in someone more vulnerable's arm.

I haven't paid super-close attention, but I think that it varies even by county.

Status 1A, 1B, etc. -- 1A is healthcare personnel & first responders, 1B perhaps the elderly (unsure).

I qualified at the tail-end of 1A, apparently, and for indirect reasons, but oh well.

 

The states are definitely handling rollout differently.  Article listed in RealClearPolitics today describes friction between Comrades Cuomo & de Blasio.

I had a sore arm for two days, starting the evening after I got it. I've never had that much from a vaccine but I just took it easy. Lots of my coworkers had the same issue. We all had Moderna. The second one is January 26!

As of this morning she reports no ill effects. I was initially concerned because she does have some allergies just like me, but they did watch her for a time after it went in.

   People have been reporting chills, high fever, muscle ache and nausea after the second shot. Seems to come on quicker than the first and can be pretty intense but doesn't last as long. People are saying about a half day or so. Someone told me today she felt like she was going to throw up every time she moved her arm. A lot of people are saying your arm hurts more. The upside I guess is those are all signs that the immune response is working.

 

 I rescheduled mine for Jan 22nd, 5 weeks since the first. I don't know if that will make it better or worse. We have started scheduling vaccines for the next group, which I think is adults over 65.

Have there been any reports about the side effects triggering panic attacks? When I see "come on quicker than the first" I can feel the anxiety building in me already. I have GAD with panic attacks (though these are mostly under control through therapy and a beta blocker) and one of my triggers is cold symptoms that come on quickly.

   Some people who got a rapid heart rate from the vaccine thought it was due to anxiety. I haven't heard of panic attack types of anxiety though. A lot of people I work with are scheduled this week so I will post any updates. I don't think everyone gets bad side effects, but everyone so far says it's worse. I am curious if there is any correlation between the doses, like if people who got more side effects from the first dose get them even worse the second time, or if it is just random.
