i generally dont get sick, but i do get bronchitis, so i know how that feels, i also get flu shots every year, and i have had pretty severe pneumonia before, so i know how that feels too

this was absolutely nothing like any of those. this was the first time in my life i have ever been laid out for a week. i had to literally crawl because i couldnt walk, and i couldnt even sit on the couch or at my desk longer than 10 minutes without being completely wiped out. the weird thing is i never had a fever, but the doctor prescribed all sorts of stuff to help with the symptoms. having an inhaler helped because it felt like i had oatmeal in my chest. i didnt really start to feel better for about 2-3 weeks, and even then it was incremental.

just to be on the safe side i told mom she wasnt allowed in the house for about 6 weeks, and ever since then, me and the wife wear masks and sanitizer everywhere, and her job tests her twice a week

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting you didn't have Covid. Very well might have been.

My approach is, if I have symptoms of anything, I act as if it could be Covid - isolate as much as possible and check symptoms. We are required to call OCC health at work for certain symptoms and possibly get tested. I have even wore the mask at home a few times when I wasn't sure, because working in a hospital, there is always the possibility of bringing something back home. Once I am recovered though, unless I tested positive, I go on the assumption that it wasn't Covid. I don't want to start thinking that I might be immune and get cocky and take risks I might not otherwise take.

I think we may have had COVID at Christmas, which I have mentioned several times. We were so, so sick and it came on so, so suddenly. At the time, I remarked (maybe even on here) that it felt like nothing I'd ever experienced before with the flu. I could barely walk and I had a fever for 2 weeks. Awful. But it could very well have been the flu. COVID was circulating in SoCal at the time, I have read, so it is within the realm of possibility. But I will never know. I can live with that.

Dr Fauci: The UK 'was not as careful' as US in vaccine approval

The UK on Wednesday became the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer vaccine for the coronavirus.

"The UK did not do it as carefully," he told Fox News. "If you go quickly and you do it superficially, people are not going to want to get vaccinated."

The UK has defended its process, and said the jab is safe and effective.

Dr June Raine, the head of the UK medicines regulator, on Wednesday said that "no corners had been cut" in vetting the jab. The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) reviewed preliminary data on the vaccine trials dating back to June.

Yeah, it's really not much more than going back to stores limiting how many people can go inside, which most haven't been doing. Smaller shops, yes -- when I drive down Melrose and Robertson there are often lines waiting to get in places and you wonder -- there's no sale, why is there a line out the door at Manolo Blahnik? But it's because they are limiting the number of people who go inside. (Seriously, who are the people wearing Manolos right now? I have worn heels twice since March, and once was for my wedding.)

Salons are closing again, too. And people are being told not to hang out with people outside of their household, although exercise outdoors with others is fine, as far as I know. We're also being advised to stay at home as much as possible, which I already do. So it's like a less harsh version of what we had in April, and we all know so much better what to expect.

I saw this earlier and it is really sad to see what this woman is going through. You can hear the desperation in her voice about losing everything she has worked so hard for only to find out that she has to lock down but it is ok for a movie company to have a huge gathering right outside.

If I was still living in Pasadena then I would definitely have to take a trip to Sherman Oaks.

This is a little scary, to me, physical distancing is much more important than wearing a mask.

WEARING MASKS IS ON THE RISE. PHYSICAL DISTANCING ISN’T.

Mask-wearing in the United States has gradually increased over time while distancing measures have dramatically fallen, according to a study that has continuously tracked the virus-related personal behaviors of thousands of people since April. The findings suggest a link between the current U.S. surge in coronavirus infections and relaxed attitudes about staying away from others.

The latest survey of all 50 states and the District of Columbia, by researchers from Northeastern, Harvard, Northwestern, and Rutgers universities, found that other practices such as washing hands, disinfecting surfaces, and avoiding crowded places also reached all-time lows in October.

The one important exception was mask-wearing, the study found. The practice steadily increased through the end of August, and has held steady since then, with about 77 percent of people reporting that they very closely adhered to recommendations to wear masks in November.

anecdotally, this is also true.

more people wearing masks, but they are also crowding together more like at stores or even outside walking around, from my observations

we did take a chance and walked around a mall on black friday because my wife had never seen it decorated for christmas, we wanted to get out of the house and go for a walk somewhere, and she wanted to take pictures. although we tried our best to stay away from other people, we noticed that others were not as considerate, or not even trying.
