Yeah, pretty sure I picked it up in China last year in December.  Also, I have heard quite a few anecdotal stories of a strange illness circulating in December 2019/January 2020 with similar symptoms.

I have heard that as well from people who have taken a flu test and did not have the flu. I had to take almost a week off of work which if you know me  knows that that just doesn't freaking happen. I

The UK approved the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.

Covid-19: Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine judged safe for use in UK from next week

Britain's medicines regulator, the MHRA, says the jab, which offers up to 95% protection against Covid-19 illness, is safe to be rolled out.

The first doses are already on their way to the UK, with 800,000 due in the coming days, Pfizer said.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the NHS will contact people about jabs.

Elderly people in care homes and care home staff have been placed top of the priority list, followed by over-80s and health and care staff.

But because hospitals already have the facilities to store the vaccine at -70C, as required, the very first vaccinations are likely to take place there - for care home staff, NHS staff and patients - so none of the vaccine is wasted.

So is this like the vaccine in Utopia that causes sterilization?

Not getting a positive flu test doesn't mean you have COVID. There can be many other things you have. There can also be false negatives. It may very well be that your friends had COVID, and just as likely that they didn't. I was pretty sick IIRC in September 2020 and after recovery was left with a series of bizarre symptoms. No evidence that COVID was around then though.

No evidence that this vaccine causes something from a work of science fiction.

Wanted to amend that I was sick in September 2019. I can barely keep up with the years anymore.

I honestly think I had it back in February but I didn't get tested.

Every one seems to think they had it. Many people I know suspected an unusually severe cough that was going around in January and February was Covid. The only problem with that suspicion is all of the people who have tested had negative Covid antibody tests.

I don't doubt Covid was circulating earlier than we know, we have discussed that several times in this topic, but it wasn't circulating widely. Some people may have had it before it was recognized, but in general, people should probably avoid the scenario of blaming some previous illness on Covid without actually having proof, because it may give them a false sense of security.

Yes. It's just hard to keep up. These past two years have been pretty awful so they blend together you know?

I know the cough back in Sept last year was quite terrible. But I tend to get that with bronchitis. My doctors have been particularly interested though in the after-effects. As if the illness triggered something odd. I know I got sick in spring of this year. A week long thing with a high fever that broke with a Z-pack. Since no one else got sick around me, I assume it was not COVID.

I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have some sort of throat clearing or cough going on and it sucks so bad. So I usually have some sort of respiratory thing going on every year but this year was different because it got really bad with the fatigue, headaches, and high temperature

I've had a couple of unusual respiratory illnesses in the last year, but my IgG antibody test is negative, so I go on the assumption that they were not Covid.

Every fall, as far back as I remember, we have a few cases of people having respiratory illness and fever of unknown origin. Sometimes they end up testing for every pathogen known to man and nothing shows up. There is still a lot out there that we don't know, and I imagine some of it is worse than Covid.

i generally dont get sick, but i do get bronchitis, so i know how that feels, i also get flu shots every year, and i have had pretty severe pneumonia before, so i know how that feels too

this was absolutely nothing like any of those. this was the first time in my life i have ever been laid out for a week. i had to literally crawl because i couldnt walk, and i couldnt even sit on the couch or at my desk longer than 10 minutes without being completely wiped out. the weird thing is i never had a fever, but the doctor prescribed all sorts of stuff to help with the symptoms. having an inhaler helped because it felt like i had oatmeal in my chest. i didnt really start to feel better for about 2-3 weeks, and even then it was incremental.

just to be on the safe side i told mom she wasnt allowed in the house for about 6 weeks, and ever since then, me and the wife wear masks and sanitizer everywhere, and her job tests her twice a week
