COVID-19 may have arrived in US by December 2019

 

COVID-19 may have already arrived in the United States by December 2019, before the disease was even identified in China, a new study suggests.

 

The study researchers, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), analyzed more than 7,000 blood donations collected by the American Red Cross in nine states between Dec. 13, 2019 and Jan. 17, 2020. Of those, 106 samples tested positive for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

 

The findings suggest "SARS-CoV-2 infections may have been present in the U.S. in December 2019, earlier than previously recognized," the authors wrote in their paper, published Monday (Nov. 30) in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases.

I guess they must be quite quiet as this is one I have never heard of before.  In fact wasn't Obama an IL state senator back in 2001?  Since this chart was referenced from Whitehouse.gov and FoxNews, I would expect they would understand history.

First of all, it was not presented as a meme, and it had clear sources listed, but I understand your point, and my comment still stands, it was quite sloppy.

I honestly think I had it back in February but I didn't get tested.

Yeah, pretty sure I picked it up in China last year in December.  Also, I have heard quite a few anecdotal stories of a strange illness circulating in December 2019/January 2020 with similar symptoms.
