Meanwhile at a Costco near me, get ready for runs on TP part deux.

At least they have something. Pretty much most stores here have been cleaned out of TP, PT, and kleenax. Sightings of cleaning products is rare as well. This week most canned goods are gone and the run on water started. Perhaps the most interesting items gone off the shelves are xmas decorations. It doesn't matter how many trailers the local stores brought in with stock, everything is getting cleaned out. Kind of an amazing frenzy of people wanting to go all-in with decor.

I think that the sight of empty shelves triggers a fight or flight mechanism in Americans because it is such a strange site.

I've been doing grocery pickup since April and I just noticed last week that I have to order things at least 2-3 days in advance again, just like back in the spring. Also seems to be more stuff out of stock now, and the parking spots are always full. For a while I could get same day pickup and there were hardly any cars at the pickup area. The bright side I guess is that more people are taking social distancing seriously again.

I have been trying to stock up since spring, so the freezer is loaded up and the basement is full of paper towels/TP and bottled water. I figure if we get any panic buying now, we can just stay away and not be a part of it. I'm hoping everyone did that at least a little.

I get 4 gallons 2x a week since I started doing grocery pickup. We have about 60 one gallon bottles in the basement now, and my wife is giving me a hard time about the "mess". She never actually goes in the basement, but somehow the idea of water bottles and paper towels all over the place causes a reaction.

Just put a filter system in the kitchen, and that along with the fridge filter should be good enough for us.  We already have enough TP and PT to last a year, so no need for that now.

We do have a filter but we also have to worry about power outages/frozen pipes here. We probably have enough of everything now. I tend to do the "reorder all" on groceries a lot, so we tend end up with extras that I wouldn't necessarily have if I was shopping in person.

Me too, if I didn't have a wife to rein me in.

my wife would probably go along with it. she says she knows how to use guns already, and she knows how to do pretty much everything. we both would love to just live in a cabin in the woods somewhere

We put in a whole house generator in January, something I should have done years ago.

How much did you pay roughly? I have been thinking about doing that.

I have some bargaining room with my wife since she takes up all the closet space with shoes, so I might be able to swing the generator.
