Zero Covid, what a joke.

Pregnant New Zealand journalist is forced to turn to the TALIBAN for help after she was left stranded in Afghanistan because of Jacinda Ardern's draconian Covid laws

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10454667/Pregnant-New-Zealand-journalist-turns-Taliban-remains-stranded-Afghanistan.html

Late reply but apropos since this is visa journey.

The pregnant journalist is a drama queen.

The visa waiver for the Schengen Area is usually no more than 90 days of physical presence in the past 180 days across all Schengen countries.  However, NZ has negotiated multiple side deals with multiple Schengen Area counties that let its citizens skirt the 90-in-180-day rule.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_New_Zealand_citizens

The New Zealand Government has signed bilateral visa waiver agreements with a number of the individual countries who are Schengen signatories, which allow New Zealand citizens to spend up to three months in the relevant country, without reference to time spent in other Schengen signatory states“

Thus she can spend each trimester in a different one of several Schengen Area countries:

 Austria

 Belgium

 Czech Republic

 Denmark

 Finland

 France

 Germany

 Greece

 Iceland

 Italy

 Luxembourg

 Netherlands

 Norway

 Portugal

 Spain

 Sweden

  Switzerland

A casual perusal of the map reveals multiple 3 country subsets in easy  travel distance amongst each other.

But if it bleeds it leads and so facts and facts checking don’t matter.  And I write this as someone who despises Jacinda Ardern.

She may be a drama queen, but the fact that she cannot go back to NZ without negotiating multiple hoops does in fact seem ludicrous.  I have read other stories about NZ citizens not being allowed to return.  There was that person here that came to the US on a K1 visa where the relationship broke down, and then she had very little recourse as getting back to NZ was nearly impossible.

In my eyes, Covid is all but done, and I do not worry about it anymore (not that I worried about it very much when it was a bigger deal).

Was in Whole Foods yesterday, and probably 75% of the folks there were wearing masks or some form of face covering (saw one guy with a wool scarf over his face).  I guess they did not get their t-shirts yet.

In Lieu Of Masks, Progressives To Just Wear Shirts Saying 'I AM A GOOD PERSON'

"During COVID, my mask became an outward symbol of my superior empathy, goodness, and knowledge of Dr. Fauci's daily briefings," said Mortimer Snodgrass, a progressive. "I'm happy we have these shirts to let the world know that we are one of the good people." Snodgrass then turned to throw dog poop at a passing Trump supporter in a MAGA hat.

The shirts will be sold by NIKE and skillfully made by Uyghur slaves in China. They will sell for $500, with 20% of the proceeds donated to Greta Thunberg's organization "School Strike 4 Climate," and another 20% donated to AOC's reelection to help her defeat capitalism.

The next time someone tells me that they are not bothered by requirements to wear a cloth or surgical  mask, I am going to ask them what other mandatory superstitions are they not bothered by.

This is the root of your, and the, entire problem.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Obama Receives Nobel Prize In Medicine For Getting COVID

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced that they will be awarding former President Obama the Nobel Prize in medicine for bravely contracting the deadly virus known as COVID-19.

"Many people around the world have contracted COVID, but none have done it with such grace, class, and dignity as Barack Obama," said Nobel Laureate Johan Lindströmolofsson. "This blessed child of light, this son of hope, has taken COVID upon himself for all mankind. Thank you Obama. You deserve this prize. We love you." Lindströmolofsson then fell to the ground and wept.

Obama's team of 38 dedicated physicians says he is only experiencing mild symptoms and will be fully recovered soon.

Get well soon, Madam Secretary!

Hillary Clinton announced Tuesday that she has tested positive for Covid-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms.

"Well, I've tested positive for COVID. I've got some mild cold symptoms but am feeling fine," the 74-year-old former first lady and onetime secretary of state said in a tweet. "I'm more grateful than ever for the protection vaccines can provide against serious illness. Please get vaccinated and boosted if you haven't already!"

It's not that we need to know they have Covid, they want us to know they were vaccinated.

It's all about marketing.

People infected with Covid-19 face a higher risk of myocarditis and other inflammatory heart conditions than those vaccinated against the disease, according a large study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday.

The CDC found the risk of myocarditis, pericarditis and multisystem inflammatory syndrome was higher after Covid infection than after Pfizer or Moderna vaccination in males and females ages 5 and older. However, these cardiac conditions are rare after infection and vaccination alike, according to the CDC.

Federal judge voids US transportation mask mandate

The decision Monday by U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Tampa, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, also said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention improperly failed to justify its decision and did not follow proper rulemaking.

In her 59-page ruling, Mizelle said the only remedy was to vacate the rule entirely because it would be impossible to end it for the limited group of people who objected to it in the lawsuit.
