Covid-19 vaccine effectiveness against severe disease has not dropped much, CDC says

We were lobstering down in the Keys this past weekend with my daughter and son in law and a couple of their friends.  One of their friends is an ER doc near St. Louis MO.  Naturally we talked about Covid cases at his hospital.

Yes, they are nearing capacity, BUT that is not based on beds (they still have enough) but due to not enough staff.

Roughly 90% of Covid cases they admit are unvaccinated people, and almost all of those are obese or have other underlying severe conditions.

If you are unvaccinated and obese you are screwed.

Wait.  So now Moderna is twice as good as Pfizer?

JAZZ SHAW Aug 31, 2021 2:31 PM ET

[...] Yet another study has been completed on the efficacy of the various vaccines.  This one took place at a large hospital system in Belgium and the metric they looked at was the relative levels of antibodies found in patients after receiving each of the vaccines.  When they compared Pfizer and Moderna, it turns out that the race wasn't even close.  Patients receiving the Moderna vaccine had literally more than twice as many antibodies as those who received the two doses of Pfizer.  [...]

No one is suggesting anyone go out an have a Covid19 party, but with all the current talk of vaccine cards/passports, etc., why are those that recovered not counted among those protected?

Having SARS-CoV-2 once confers much greater immunity than a vaccine—but vaccination remains vital

Why?  Because that doesn't sell vaccines and make money for those at the top.

Natural immunity is something like 13X more effective than the drug, yet we NEED the drug as a whole.  And if you notice, the countries with the highest rates of "vaccination" also happen to have the highest number of cases.

If you are vaccinated and obese, you are likely screwed as well.  But since the CDC stopped tracking breakthru cases, we will never know how many actually get the 'vid.

Also, if you are alive, you will most likely get covid.

Maybe not 13X...

In Israel, vaccinated individuals had 27 times higher risk of symptomatic COVID infection compared to those with natural immunity from prior COVID disease [95%CI:13-57, adjusted for time of vaccine/disease]. No COVID deaths in either group.

I thought it was just Trump that forced decisions of the "scientists".  Does Hunter and by extension "The Big Guy" have financial ties to the vaccine manufacturers.

If you're unvaccinated, DON'T travel over Labor Day weekend: CDC asks 80MILLION unvaccinated Americans to stay home this weekend as COVID cases rise to 160,000 a day

The CDC said unvaccinated Americans should not travel this Labor Day weekend

61.8 percent of eligible Americans have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 52.4 percent are fully vaccinated, according to the CDC

The nation's rolling seven-day average of new Covid cases ranges from about 130,000, which CDC gave Tuesday, to as high as 160,000

With that said, a ValuePenguin survey of U.S. consumers said on September 1 that one in five Americas - 51 million - are traveling for travel for Labor Day

The top destination spot is Florida, according to the survey

Reactions on social media to the CDC travel advisory has been mostly defiance

Regardless of vaccination status, masks are required on all planes, buses and rail lines after Biden extended extended the requirement through January 18, 2022
