Any word on whether the addt'l 50,000 H1B visa will be offset by scrapping the DV lottery that currently grants about 50,000 visa/year? There was talk previously on putting away with the DV program and I thought the coincidental increase by the same number currently issued under that scheme may not be coincidental at all.
The House bill scraps the lottery. Don't know if the Senate one does or not.

Maybe the Senate left it out purposely at this stage to have something throw at the House as a bone during the negotiation. Either way, it doesn't look good for the DV program, I suppose.
