Hey! So my status changed online on 11/4/2020 and I am still waiting for the letter though up to this day it has not changed ever since. Does it really take this long? It’s more than a month

Your status is changed only to "ready to be scheduled" , not to "scheduled". It may take a month or months for them to schedule your interview, or in some cases, status may change to "card being produced" without interview. You shouldn't expect a letter for this status change for now, wait for the next step and status update mentioned above.

Hello,

I am in the same situation. Have been waiting for my interview to be scheduled for over 8 months now. No further updates... plus my extension letter is expiring in 3 days. I called USCIS to schedule an infopass appointment, they got back to me in 2 weeks and said that there is no available appointment at my local office during this time, so the only way is keep calling back to follow up if any slot is available. This is very frustrating since my driver license is expiring in June and DMV did not let me renew it with my expiring letter as well.

Chicago field office is on backlog with cases. Currently, I saw someone in a FB forum with January 2019 NOA receipt date got interview this March in Chicago. So I believe the Chicago field office is working on January 2019 cases. When is your NOA receipt date?  Mine status says ready to be Scheduled for an interview since December 2020.  You will not get anything in mail for this status change. When your status change from Ready to be scheduled to Scheduled for an interview, then they will sent a letter with your interview date and time. Until that, we have to wait. It will be a year or 15 months when we expect to see that status change unfortunate.

We filed for ROC in September 2019. We did the fingerprints on short order, but while we were waiting, Covid to hit. It changed to ready to be interviewed several months ago and didn’t change to scheduled for an interview for a while later and the letter didn’t come until after that change, within a few days. As far as questions, it depends on how much information you provided along with the application. We provided bank statements, travel documents, insurance documents, and a few others. I brought along some updated information, but he said it was pretty complete and told us we were approved. We really weren’t asked many questions. He said as an aside that they do a search before the interview and check to see if people receive mail at different addresses. But as long as you have a pretty clean and complete case, you may not be as much of anything. The only real questions were on current jobs.
