Okay so since my wife received her Green Card we have moved twice. I know that we are required to notify USCIS when we move.  I only recently learned about the 10 day time requirement. I was under the impression it was mostly for if they needed to mail you something. The first time we moved we filed the AR-11 maybe a week late. The second time it was a few months late. None of the paperwork I have from USCIS mentions 10 days!! Surely this is a pretty common occurrence. We have a child now. Are they actually deporting people for this? This was an honest mistake.

When my ex-husband moved out of our old home together, he did not know he had to file an AR-11. He had always relied on me to do all the immigration stuff. When he filed for citizenship shortly after we broke up, he discovered he should have filed the AR-11 several months after the application was already in. No difference to his application. That you did it was the important thing. You will not be deported. :)

A sponsor is also required to complete and mail an I-865 after moving.

You’re good.  They’re watching all of us anyway

Seriously you filed it, it’s done.  There is a separate one for the sponsor to file.  Beneficiary can file online, we have to file by mail.
