Anyone else's State ID's or Drivers Licenses expire on the day of Green Card expiration date? My husbands DL and Green Card expire Dec 21st, and he can't renew it without USCIS confirmation he is in process.

Man, that sucks. I (still) haven't learnt how to drive, but my state ID that I was able to get when I got my green card last year will not expire until my birthday five years from the year of issue. Applied for at the CA DMV.

So if I understand correctly from this thread, at least PA and AL only issue licenses and ID until the expiry date of I-551? :(

We've got a couple in this thread (according to the Google spreadsheet) who were the earliest to file I-751 in November. Maybe the rest of us get some hope once we hear these early ones getting their G-1145 notifications

Can the spreadsheet be sorted in alphabetical order, by the way? I know Excel has the function to do it. Would be easier to find one's own nickname in the sheet.

Getting there, slowly but surely...  (I hope )

Together (well...mostly the Transatlanticism kind of together) Since 12/2013

CR-1:

Married in Sweden 8/2017
(Well Frontloaded) I-130 Sent 12/2017
CR-1 Approved 10/2018

I-751:

I-751 Package Sent with UPS 11/11/2020
I-751 Received by the AZ Lockbox 11/13/2020
I-751 Check Cashed 12/31/2020
I-797 (with My Last Name Misspelled...) Received by Mail 1/2/2021

Biometrics Appointment Received by Mail...too bad I am in Europe right when it's supposed to take place 🤯 6/14/2021

Rescheduled Biometrics Appointment, the biometric technician can't change the misspelled name on file, but he enters the correct spelling of my last name as an alias 8/2/2021

Interview Ready to Be Scheduled 10/13/2021

(Two Days Later) Interview Was Scheduled 😱 10/15/2021

I-751 Interview, Petition Approved 🥳 11/19/2021

Case Status Changed to New Card Is Being Produced 11/19/2021

Green Card Arrived in the Mail (Name Correctly Spelling, w00t) 11/27/2021

When USCIS Misspells Your Name:

Typographical error form filled on USCIS website 1/4/2021
Contacted USCIS if there has been any progress since THEIR error (Received a Tier 1 tracking number) 2/6/2021
Contacted USCIS again as the issue remains to be resolved (Received ANOTHER Tier 1 tracking number) 3/12/2021
Apparently USCIS chat is worthless; CALLED USCIS, Tier 1 agent promised that a Tier 2 agent would call me 4/28/2021
Received a call from a nice Tier 2 officer who said I may or may not get a correct extension letter, but just in case I would be scheduled an InfoPASS appointment 5/4/2021
Went to local USCIS service center and had to deal with a nasty and entitled customer service agent who refused to give me an I-551 stamp. National Benefits Center is supposed to mail me another I-797 within 7-10 days... So I had to waste my day, taking buses for two hours one-way just to deal with this lady's attitude? 5/7/2021

After anxiously monitoring our mailbox for a few days I DID receive a corrected I-797, w00t! All documents good to go Vaccinated Ready to visit my parents in Europe for the first time in 17 months!!  5/13/2021

The lesson: Don't use the chat for anything complicated, AND keep hassling USCIS for a response...

yes, that is correct and as far as i know....OR and WA also do as in California. They are not related to your expiration on your GC

My DL also expires the day my GC expires, I reside in Massachusetts and as you can see in my timeline I filed recently but even with that I don't know if the state DMV will accept any document other than the green card itself in order to renew the DL, I doubt that they would take the extension letter from USCIS to renew my DL, does anybody here have any experience with that?

3) i was referring to the type of evidence. Still the same financials together, mortgages, 401k, health insurance cards and such correct? for ROC and N-400 right? Someone listed the same type of evidence in the N-400 filing group for this year. When I did mine was under the 5 year rule and not through marriage. I am USC by naturalization. My wife on the other hand has the possibility to do it under the 3 year rule.

ahhh
Yea... am not sure what the evidence actually is. I have a philosophy with immigration to not stress myself till I have to
Come next summer, then I start looking into it. Ha!

but from what I have gathered, it seems that yes- it is the same type of evidences. and some requirements about staying in US for most of that 3 year process

As mentioned- totally saying off my butt
Haven't' actually read the requirements

But I THINK I recall people saying that why so many don't do the 3 year is because the rules are a bit more inflexible. and I THINK I recall someone saying that the requirement for permanent residence is that you must have stayed inside the US almost the entire 3 year period from when you received permanent residency to qualify. (I suggest bets to go on USCIS and actually read the qualifications yourself if you are worried)

Are you applying for I-751? Yes 2 passport sized photos are needed. The lawyer asked me to attach it in the I-751 application. I just labeled it with my A#

https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance

Photos are only needed if you are filling from overseas and spouse is military

If you are filing from outside of the United States because you, your spouse or your stepparent is residing outside of the United States on U.S. military or government orders:

  • Two passport-style photographs for each petitioner and dependent, regardless of age;
  • Two completed Form FD- 258 Fingerprint Cards for each petitioner and dependent 14 to 79 years of age;
  • A copy of current military or government orders.

Has anyone got a text or email message about the application being received?

Am pretty sure all of November and end of october folks are waiting. At this point, I don't expect any November folks to hear prior to beginning of December- yes. it's taking a month plus now for a simple text and longer for a NOA
