Hey guys our package was delivered Nov 23rd but money order has still not been cashed. I know they're taking longer, but does that wait seem normal since there's people who filed after us and already got their notices?

Believe what you want to believe. I will follow what the person on the actual USCIS website told me to do (or not do in this case).

I will revert back to reading only as its clear my experience is not appreciated.

I think there is some confusion! Per my attorney, your status is automatically extended if you timely file your application. The motion of filing the i-751 before your expiration date is what extends your status. The receipt notice is proof that your status has been extended.

So as long as you filed on time, USCIS will consider you in valid status. Your rights and privileges as a conditional resident are still in effect.

The tricky part though is until you get the receipt notice you cannot prove your status. For continuing employment, per i-9 guidelines, a conditional resident does not have to be reverified. But if you accepted new employment, you would need to complete a new I-9 and here now you may not have proof of status. In your question, you didn’t specify continued employment vs new employment, and the officer probably thought you were referring new employment in which case you wouldn’t have proof of status to complete the I-9.

I understand that having a lawyer is expensive, but they are very helpful beyond just completing forms as you can go through legal scenarios such as this with them.

Hi everyone,

I have a confusion about receipt number. So USCIS send me notice of rejection but it has a receipt number on it. I sent my I-751 application again after correcting the mistake(the cause of rejection). does anyone knows if the receipt number stays the same after USCIS accept my petition? or is it gonna change in second notice?

You will get a new receipt number after your petition gets accepted. Because mine got rejected once too and I got a new number post that.

I’m traveling next week abroad for 10 days, I still haven’t had the biometrics letter. I did the biometrics for my AOS so they’ll probably reuse that, but a part of me is nervous that mine wouldn’t be waived! Also a part of me is a bit nervous about using an expired GC with the extension letter I797! Wish me luck haha. It’s all going to ok, I know. You just can’t help not be nervous in these new situations.

Good luck! Keep us posted

Correct

a receipt # is attached to a filing, not a person.

so if the first filing is rejected, any time u look up that receipt number, it will say “I-751 rejected”

a new number will be generated with the new file.

Are people getting notifications from the my uscis website? I have it set to email and text notification, but when I checked today, it had been updated to fingerprints taken even though I never got a notification for it.
