Small rant:

So today we went to renew mi wifes DL. The DMV lady didn't know how to count 18 months from the day her GC expires. He GC doesn't expire till February 14. Technically she should have given her a DL till August 14, 2021. Instead she gave her DL till June 11, 2021.  It doesn't matter that much because we intend to file for N-400 by the 3 year rule and hopefully all immigration is done before we have to do another DL renewal (pain in the @$$)

Just do your calculation beforehand so that you get the most out of your DL, if you live in one of those States, where your DL is link to the expiration of your GC. It's $37 here in AL every time you move. And it's only good for 4 years or the expiration of your GC. We are planning on moving before N-400, so that is another drive to that office and another $37.  It's not the money itself, but the time to go there and wait and waste it on something that has nothing to do with immigration.

Good luck to everyone and hope we get biometrics info soon.

It will be interesting to see CR 1 folks that has not received the NOA yet will follow the same pattern or not. Btw what visa type is CR1?

For example, the speakers confirmed that I-751 receipt numbers with the prefix MSC are routed for interview scheduling; receipt numbers that do not contain the MSC prefix (e.g., EAC, VSC, LIN, etc.) are routed to the appropriate service center for an interview waiver determination.

Oh, that was news to me. Thank you!

CR-1 is the conditional marriage visa the immigrant is given if they have been married to the US citizen for less than 2 years. In our case, if we had delayed the painstaking process and plan for the POE 8 months later, we would not have needed to deal with the removal of conditions, and would have received a 10 years' IR-1 green card directly. But obviously, we just wanted to be together and not wait any more than necessary. And our process was really fast and straightforward (by US immigration standards) unlike many heartbreaking stories you read on VisaJourney.

Getting there, slowly but surely...  (I hope )

Together (well...mostly the Transatlanticism kind of together) Since 12/2013

CR-1:

Married in Sweden 8/2017
(Well Frontloaded) I-130 Sent 12/2017
CR-1 Approved 10/2018
POE LAX 01/11/2019

I-751:

I-751 Package Sent with UPS 11/11/2020
I-751 Received by the AZ Lockbox 11/13/2020
I-751 Check Cashed 12/31/2020
I-797 (with My Last Name Misspelled...) Received by Mail 1/2/2021

Biometrics Appointment Received by Mail...too bad I am in Europe right when it's supposed to take place 🤯 6/14/2021

Rescheduled Biometrics Appointment, the biometric technician can't change the misspelled name on file, but he enters the correct spelling of my last name as an alias 8/2/2021

Interview Ready to Be Scheduled 10/13/2021

(Two Days Later) Interview Was Scheduled 😱 10/15/2021

I-751 Interview, Petition Approved 🥳 11/19/2021

Case Status Changed to New Card Is Being Produced 11/19/2021

Case Status Changed to Case Was Approved 11/22/2021

Green Card Arrived in the Mail (Name Correctly Spelling, w00t) 11/27/2021

When USCIS Misspells Your Name:

Typographical error form filled on USCIS website 1/4/2021
Contacted USCIS if there has been any progress since THEIR error (Received a Tier 1 tracking number) 2/6/2021
Contacted USCIS again as the issue remains to be resolved (Received ANOTHER Tier 1 tracking number) 3/12/2021
Apparently USCIS chat is worthless; CALLED USCIS, Tier 1 agent promised that a Tier 2 agent would call me 4/28/2021
Received a call from a nice Tier 2 officer who said I may or may not get a correct extension letter, but just in case I would be scheduled an InfoPASS appointment 5/4/2021
Went to local USCIS service center and had to deal with a nasty and entitled customer service agent who refused to give me an I-551 stamp. National Benefits Center is supposed to mail me another I-797 within 7-10 days... So I had to waste my day, taking buses for two hours one-way just to deal with this lady's attitude? 5/7/2021

After anxiously monitoring our mailbox for a few days I DID receive a corrected I-797, w00t! All documents good to go Vaccinated Ready to visit my parents in Europe for the first time in 17 months!!  5/13/2021

The lesson: Don't use the chat for anything complicated, AND keep hassling USCIS for a response...

Yes, thank you Mystery Man :)

Upon looking at the spreadsheet it seems like most of the CR1 has MSC as service center code and based on the article posted by USCIS it seems like MSC will be routed for the interview, others will be routed for interview waiver determination. It will be interesting to see CR 1 folks that has not received the NOA yet will follow the same pattern or not. Btw what visa type is CR1?

Yes. CR-1 folks have most likely not yet had a joint interview and would make sense they have one before a 10 year card is issued

I think you might be in luck my friend
SRC is the fastest moving center from prior spreadsheets. most are getting biometrics waived and a select few already had interview so I think you will be hearing something by next month!!

Thanks. My case is the same as you but my category is CR6. I came here on F1 visa.

NOA came in the mail today! I will update the spreadsheet. Also went the CR1 route and received the MSC prefix. Hopefully things go smoothly for us and everyone involved. Does anyone have an answer regarding applying for citizenship? I think someone mentioned the N-400? We have yet to look into this. I think someone mentioned you can start the paperwork for this while waiting on removal of conditions to finish? Any information would be awesome. Again thank you to everyone for helping. This has been a great group. I will still follow along and help when I can.

You are right; the N-400 application for naturalization can be submitted beginning 90 days before the 3rd anniversary of your first green card.

This can be done while your I-751 is still in process. The entire process is online. Visajourney has some good forums dedicated to this topic.

I am looking into the N-400 as of right now. I am assuming that it will be similar or the same as for ROC. We have some already for naturalization. Joint bank statements ( savings & checking); joint taxes ( we do not file separately); chats, sms and emails to each other; joint credit cards; we live in the same place with same address in DL; my wife is on my medical insurance; we got emergency contact and 401k where each other is beneficiary; we have common assets (vehicle purchase under both names); this partial list should be enough, I think.

I have not found a list of documents that have been used for N-400. Would be nice if someone that has recently done it, shared it. December 2020 and later.

We plan to use the 3 year rule for naturalization.

Our friend from Thailand recently did hers and took only 4 months or less in Montgomery, AL right before the pandemic started. But her interview was in the middle of all the chaos.  She did the 100 questions test though.

Hello! Silly question here but want to be extra sure I understood. If we got our green card dated 01/16/19, third year will be 22, so you can apply for naturalization October 2021?

thank you in advance

I/16/19 until 1/16/20 is one year

1/16/20 until 1/16/21 is two years

1/16/21 until 1/16/22 is three years

So yeah I would say that works I think!

Hi guys I need some urgent guidance. I received my NOA in California at my permanent address. I live in Maryland. I have to travel internationally next week. My FIL mailed the letter to me last week but I haven't received it yet. I m so stressed. If I don't get it by next week, should I travel ? I was thinking that I travel and  when my husband receive it here in Maryland , he can mail me overseas.

And unfortunately, he sent via USPS.

What would you guys suggest?

In reality you get the 90 days before the 3 year also like in ROC

Our is GC 2/15/2019 and we can apply N-400 on 11/17/2021 according to my calculations

They can mail it to you overseas, but  you are risking such important piece of mail to a courier! 😬

Look at the call out box at the bottom of Pg. 22: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/guides/chapter4.pdf
