My I-751 was delivered to the lockbox on November 28. If I travel overseas and return for biometrics will it impact my I-751 application?

I don’t quite get your question...

all that should matter here is whether your green card is valid or not.
If ure overseas and it expires and u don’t have an NOA, am not quite sure how u can get back in.

but if everything is good, biometrics really shouldn’t matter....

Hi everyone.

I was just offered a job today after months of applying everywhere! They want me to start on January 11th, 2021 and my green card expires on January 15th, 2021.

My package was delivered on November 16th but I know it's still not in the system yet. Has anyone dealt with something similar like this before? If so, do you have any advice on how to proceed?

Thanks in advance!

It depends on your new employer. They'd generally finish a background and want to see the physical GC on your first day. They wouldn't really track it after that.
Based on how things are going (per the spreadsheet), you will likely have your extension letter by that date

PS: Mine was delivered 11/16 as well :)

Do you have an unrestricted SSN card together with a valid state license? Apparently those docs together also fill the I-9 requirements without having to disclose the whole thing that you are in the progress of renewing your I-551.

Congrats for the new job! ☺️

Getting there, slowly but surely...  (I hope )

Together (well...mostly the Transatlanticism kind of together) Since 12/2013

CR-1:

Married in Sweden 8/2017
(Well Frontloaded) I-130 Sent 12/2017
CR-1 Approved 10/2018
POE LAX 01/11/2019

I-751:

I-751 Package Sent with UPS 11/11/2020
I-751 Received by the AZ Lockbox 11/13/2020
I-751 Check Cashed 12/31/2020
I-797 (with My Last Name Misspelled...) Received by Mail 1/2/2021

Biometrics Appointment Received by Mail...too bad I am in Europe right when it's supposed to take place 🤯 6/14/2021

Rescheduled Biometrics Appointment, the biometric technician can't change the misspelled name on file, but he enters the correct spelling of my last name as an alias 8/2/2021

Interview Ready to Be Scheduled 10/13/2021

(Two Days Later) Interview Was Scheduled 😱 10/15/2021

I-751 Interview, Petition Approved 🥳 11/19/2021

Case Status Changed to New Card Is Being Produced 11/19/2021

Case Status Changed to Case Was Approved 11/22/2021

Green Card Arrived in the Mail (Name Correctly Spelling, w00t) 11/27/2021

When USCIS Misspells Your Name:

Typographical error form filled on USCIS website 1/4/2021
Contacted USCIS if there has been any progress since THEIR error (Received a Tier 1 tracking number) 2/6/2021
Contacted USCIS again as the issue remains to be resolved (Received ANOTHER Tier 1 tracking number) 3/12/2021
Apparently USCIS chat is worthless; CALLED USCIS, Tier 1 agent promised that a Tier 2 agent would call me 4/28/2021
Received a call from a nice Tier 2 officer who said I may or may not get a correct extension letter, but just in case I would be scheduled an InfoPASS appointment 5/4/2021
Went to local USCIS service center and had to deal with a nasty and entitled customer service agent who refused to give me an I-551 stamp. National Benefits Center is supposed to mail me another I-797 within 7-10 days... So I had to waste my day, taking buses for two hours one-way just to deal with this lady's attitude? 5/7/2021

After anxiously monitoring our mailbox for a few days I DID receive a corrected I-797, w00t! All documents good to go Vaccinated Ready to visit my parents in Europe for the first time in 17 months!!  5/13/2021

The lesson: Don't use the chat for anything complicated, AND keep hassling USCIS for a response...

Do you guys know that August and September 2020 filers are getting their 10 years green cards?

thats so fast. I am shocked !

Please do NOT spread misinformation and have people worry/panic unnecessarily here.

This is the spreadsheet for September filers: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qxXZIxr2N7TtyEx8adtSQ2D9Z9GuG7fmjXc0sZMAAt8/edit#gid=0

As you can see, literally only ONE/Two persons have a green card.

Many are getting their cases transferred to help with the backlog. But do not expect ur green card any moment. This is why we're getting an 18 month extension. It will take a while for most.

Thats crazy!! Maybe due to the staffing they had a back log to be mailed out?

Hello everyone,

I will file my form next month . is there anyone who filed or will file the form when they are separated but not divorced yet ? if yes how did you guys file the form ? did you need your partner sign or ?

this is tricky
Immigration doesn't really deal with middle grounds.

You are married or divorced.

My advice: Figure out if the separation is temporary or y'all are heading to divorce

If divorce, you will need a divorce waiver.

If separation is temporary, am not sure. Then I guess you guys can sort yourselves out and file the JOINT petition?

Good luck and please keep us posted on how you navigate this issue.

Feel free to post on general VJ where more experienced folks can give better advice

I do not know what is gonna happen. I'm still trying to save my marriage but it looks hard honestly.

At the end, I will need her sign on the form anyway , right ? if she does not sign it , is there a option for ''separate '' ? or how it is gonna work ?

this is what am saying. if you are not married, she cannot sign it. A separation is technically not a divorce (and separated couples are still technically married)- so am not sure how you are going to proceed
on the first page or so, there's a question for if marriage has ended and what date that is

Post this on general forum and see. Am sure this is not the first time someone is going through separation.

Misinformation?

I didn't say all of them are getting it. But I noticed some of the timelines and they were shocking.

Was secretly hoping they would get mine by the end of the week since some with a package delivery date of Dec 12 had been processed, but no, nada, zilch 😞

How did you folks attach the payment, those of you anyway who wrote a check? Did you attach the check with a paper clip on the top of the package or put it in an envelope? Now I am second guessing every single decision and their effects made when compiling the package 😳

Also, do you know if the looming gov’t shutdown is going to affect USCIS, too? I would think no since they are mainly funded by the filing fees, but is anyone more informed on this matter?
