My wife received just became a permanent legal resident and we have 3 I130s with me as the petitioner for her three children.  If I am reading this, right will she be able to go pick up her children and not have to wait for the IR2 visas to complete?

You have to wait for the inauguration and rules to be promulgated.   For now carry on as usual.

I am curious about this too. I have seen more than one poster here who has filed petitions for upwards of a dozen family members (parents and many siblings). The siblings also have spouses and children. Will these “temporary visas” allow them to work? Without the public charge rule in place I foresee dozens of family members arriving on day one without adequate housing, lack of financial support. This will lead to people living in overcrowded conditions and place a strain on resources such as schools and medical care. 
 

I have four siblings, all married, and between them they have 9 minor children. That’s 17 people. Does he seriously think it’s right for the country and for the immigrants to add 17 people to a 3-bed 2-bath home, in an area of higher-than-average unemployment and without verifying that I even make enough to feed them all?

A moderator needs to lock this thread. Way too much misinformation being spread, speculation, and politically charged statements. I would hate for someone to make plans or big life changes based on future assumptions. 

 

The initial comment made towards someone being from a “red state” in my opinion should result in a ban of that individual from this website. There is 0 place for that here.
 

As a reminder, just because a politician says one thing doesn’t imply it will come to fruition. A lot has changed in the world since Biden was VP and he also wasn’t in charge. His policies/approach may be different this time around.

Reversing Travel Bans

 

On Day One of his presidency, Biden intends to rescind Trump’s travel bans on travelers from 13 countries, most of them either majority-Muslim or African nations.

 

Skilled Workers

 

Biden supports reform of the H1-B system including increased alignment to the current workforce.  Once reform is complete, he plans to expands the number of high-skilled visas.

 

Refugees

 

Biden supports raising the annual allotment of refugee admissions to 125 thousand from around 15 thousand under President Trump.

 

Mexico Border Wall

 

Biden plans to immediately stop diversion of US Defense funds for the border wall, effectively stopping its expansion.  Trump will immediately prioritize reunification of "lost" children from asylum camps with their parents.

I think it’s very possible that it would result in more refusals at time of GC interview, since the petitioner couldn’t possibly support them all on an average wage, especially if entry to them came without EAD.. i foresee a lot of financial hardship

And the general increase in the cost of living. Someone has to pay for all the “free stuff!” after all.

Now I am curious too.  If you can bring your siblings in with their children, surely you can bring in your only,  married,  over 21 year old child?  I would have had to wait 7 years to bring him in when he wasn't married because he was no longer a minor.  (even though he has a degree in Pure Math's and is a computer programmer). If memory serves me correct it nearly doubled  when he got married a couple of years ago.  And to add to my misery,  over here in the UK, I am trying to sponsor my  American husband who is an accountant and also has a degree, but I have to earn so much for so long to do that.  I just don't understand any of this. SMH.  :(

Per the timeline, I-130 petition was approved in July 2019: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=338535 The case is probably stuck in NVC per Ciudad Juarez backlog.
