Hey all, I received my official email with my P3 a few days ago!

As far as the document checklist goes I’m a little confused do I just tick off everything & submit the checklist or do I have to submit copies of everything with the document checklist?

Mainly asking because it asks for an Intent to Marry Letter dates within 30 days of my interview but let’s be honest, I won’t have an interview in 30 days.

Another question, I received my original Petition for Alien Fiancé form that has been stamped as approved in the mail, I’m a bit confused as to why they sent that to me, is it because it’s something I need to bring to the interview?
Is that normal to receive that back in the mail?

It wouldn’t let me post in the Canada specific sub, is there a way you can move it?

Or answer my questions regardless, I’m a bit stressed regarding them sending me my petition back in the mail

Read the instructions and take it literally and not what you think they want. Here is what is in the P3. There are ONLY three documents that need to be sent back.

If you are a K1 fiancé(e) applicant or a derivative of a K1 Fiancé(e) applicant (K2), and you have received a “Packet 3” instruction letter from the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal, please follow the instructions below and send us the following documents by e-mail:

1. Confirmation receipt with barcode number of the completed Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application DS-160. One confirmation is needed for each applicant, including children who are accompanying you to the USA. The confirmation receipt will automatically be generated after you submit it online. Save the confirmation page and send it to us by e-mail. For instructions visit: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/forms/ds-160--online-nonimmigrantvisa-application.html. Note: While completing the online form please make sure you select ‘CANADA, MONTREAL’ as the location where you will be applying for this visa, regardless of where you are living in Canada.

2. Scanned copy of the below “Packet 3 Checklist for K1 Fiancé(e) Visa Applicants”. ONE CHECKLIST PER FAMILY WILL SUFFICE.

3. Color-scanned copy of the biographical data page of the applicant’s valid passport.

I figured that much regarding that one! So just the checked off document not the actual things it asks for!

I would still like to know why they sent back my original Petition for Alien Fiancé form with the approval stamp from NVC

Normally they do not send the I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) back to the petitioner. We have seen some who have received it but there were never any repercussions because of it. I wouldn't worry about it. Take it to the interview and discuss with the CO.

Yikes I think you misread the way that was typed, this is why it’s hard to interpret words on the internet, I was just genuinely asking as my questions often get skipped over in responses.

There was no attitude at all, sorry you read it that way.

Okay thanks, I just hadn’t heard of anyone that had happened to so I was wondering if it was something I needed to bring with me or if I need to correct a mistake etc.
