My beef with cnn is not a left bias, it's that they bring up a panel of 12 people who are all over each other from all points of the political landscape and nothing gets resolved or communicated. Listening to cnn in the evening drops your iq by 10 points.

   Agreed.

Also reporting with a left or right bias is one issue. If it's true it's fine. They are just catering to a certain audience and that is OK.  The bigger issue is the proliferation of "media" outlets that report complete BS. Secondary to that is the sheer number of people who can't discriminate fact from fiction.

i need to add, i never read or watch opinion shows or pieces. i like it as plain as possible so i can cross reference the information by looking at about 5-6 sources and actual things like court documents or police reports or something

most of the stuff i see i am skeptical about.

i do admit to a bit of confirmation bias at times, but everyone has it to some degree. some more than others.

I understand when I am digesting news and when I am taking in analysis and what opinion is and I read history. Together I am able to form an opinion.

I don't live on a diet of high fiber food, why should I live with just the news facts?

There are people who don't realize that many of the "articles" they are clicking on are actually advertising or sponsored links. It doesn't help that some of the media sites design it that way intentionally so that they get click revenue.

This article

has one of the all-time cleverest titles and is very pertinent to what y'all have just been discussing about Fox.  It seems to incorporate all three opinions above, and more.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yeah

His 4 year long circus is what allowed the Democrats to take the presidency.

I'll agree that Trump's bomb throwing, his tweets, his abrasive behavior and arrogance is one factor that turned off voters, but 72 Million other voters were OK with it, because to them it's irrelevant, what was more relevant is Trump's success and a ideology that is in line with the majority of Americans..  The credit for Trump's defeat certainly does NOT go to the man with no message, no vision and one foot hanging out of his coffin, I give credit to the liberal networks delivering 4 years of negative Trump and false narratives 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, which politically brainwashed millions of voters, (their objective all along). Add to that Covid19, a one in a 100 year Virus that occurred during a election year or all years, destroying a thriving economy, an economy that will not return under a tax farting Biden.

We worked long and hard to ensure we did all we could to vote Donald Trump out of the White House — we succeeded. And in doing so, we even elected a Black woman — the first Black woman — to the vice presidency.

But the truth is, getting Trump out of office was not the end all, be all. The work is just beginning. We start by both holding the new president-elect and vice president-elect accountable to their campaign commitments of addressing systemic racism and by emphasizing our willingness to work with them.

That’s why Black Lives Matter sent a letter to President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris requesting a meeting with them both to discuss the expectations that we have for their administration and the commitments that must be made to Black people.

The more people who ask for this meeting, the bigger the seat our movement has at the table — please join us in our meeting request by signing the petition below.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I really hate those as well because to me it seems like they are just trying to A)get your information B)self gratifies how they feel about a subject C) It is basically virtue signaling for lazy people

Happy Veterans Day to you and your wife.

I just thought, in response to your kind post, this is a picture of me as a Civil Affairs officer along an oil pipeline during the first Gulf War. I was a First Lieutenant in the Army at that time, assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Those are camels in the background. And the other picture is of my wife, Josephine, a First Lieutenant in the Air Force right now, a nurse (far right in the photo), on the flight line at Ramstein, Germany, completing a mission. She will be going over to the Army hospital here very soon, where Air Force nurses are also assigned. As soon as she trains her recently arrived replacement

Serious question -- given that Biden received 5 million more (and counting) votes than Trump, how is this correct? I mean, if it were correct, surely the numbers would be flipped, or at least with Trump having a slim majority.
