See? We are both operating from positions of good faith even if we disagree.  

 

I want all these allegations, every person who says they saw something funny, to be heard. What my question is, is why when allegations are in front of a judge about fraud they are dismissed again and again? I mean, anyone can make a statement, anyone can say something under oath. It can be true, or not true. So you look to the stuff surrounding the allegations -- is there anything to back these statements up, or is this just one person saying "I saw this"? If a judge had to take everything as true that a person was saying under oath, well, you'd have a lot more criminals walking around free!  

 

And I am not a lawyer either, but my dad is and for a while I thought maybe I might want to go into the family business, so I paid attention and listened to him when he explained legal concepts to me. Sunlight as they say is the best disinfectant. We all win by dragging things out into the open.

I wish I could stay up all night chatting here, but it is almost 1AM here in Germany, and i home school our 10 year old son. He had 2 exams this week already, plus 2 more in Science and Math, plus homework and lab work i have to help him with. So i am going to bed.  Goodnight

needs to be a caveat, a lot of these suits seem to be an attempt to delay certification of the votes, i have looked through each one of them that i could find, they are riddled with lack of evidence, hearsay (one where it was hearsay of hearsay!), and they are being dismissed, i would want them to be reviewed by the court a lot faster to either get the injunctive relief requested or to summarily dismiss the ones without merit or evidence. the much touted case regarding the ballots received after election day in PA where Alito said to separate them will be unlikely to get an en banc review because there are not enough ballots to change the outcome.

 

the newest one in Wayne country is a lot of hearsay and rehashed from the Stoddard et al case from the 6th

 

****disclaimer**** obviously i am not a lawyer, but this is just what i have been able to glean from the law blogs i follow and a reading of the statutes that govern these sorts of rules of civil procedures from both the state level and federal level and from reading the complaints and judgements from the courts themselves

 

law is pretty fascinating in case anyone wants to go down that rabbit hole. i highly recommend it. gives you something to do while we wait for this ordeal to end

    There were still court challenges in 2000 too, and the answer given by SCOTUS was "time's up". These will all be resolved one way or another by December 8th.

 

    I don't mind Ivanka calling Alaska for her dad, but his margin of lead there is about the same as the margin he is trailing by in Arizona. It doesn't really matter though. She can call California for him too if she really wants to.

The repartee, reasoning, and camaraderie in this thread have risen to high levels in this thread since the, uh, recent administrative events herein.

 

I'm giving upvotes to posts that are well-stated and respectful even if I disagree with the points being made.  Perhaps many or most of us here concur that there has been great improvement, and that we can "disagree without being disagreeable."  Thank you to everyone, and let's keep it up.

I agree, it would definitely be a stretch and my understanding of the recount requirements in AZ is that even with the margin that is there now, it would not trigger anything automatic.
