The only way that works is if Barr had been appointed to obstruct or end a Federal investigation into, say, DJTJ. Now as far as we know, there is no current investigation into DJTJ. So it sort of doesn't matter for this analogy that Barr didn't disclose any investigation into Hunter Biden until now, because unless I have totally missed something, Trump isn't Hunter's dad.
