Just so you know there's a "derailment exempt" thread where people talk about other things. There was also sports threads like for the NFL but thanks to politics saturating that, it's basically been dead, but anyone that wants to make a football (soccer) thread for European leagues, I'm definitely game.

I would point out if one party was not losing, there wouldn't be a peep out of them.

 

Look I know people will snark and sneer and attack each other. The pain will be raw for a long time, just as it was before for the other side. Hopefully time heals the wounds. If not, I fear where we are heading. Rageful hyperbole talking of war doesn't sound in any way responsible, and is quite frankly just as bad as rageful individuals that loot and burn.

i remember, and it was gracious of you. your buddies though made it intolerable. thankfully i found the ignore function. you are probably the only one that i am fairly sure is going to be ok with how everything turned out.

i also got really busy the past few months and needed to sort of get away from all the negativity here and on social media. plus had to help the wife with a lot of things and adjustments. felt like this was a good time to sort of start coming back here because we are starting to get ready for the next step for her paperwork

I can't speak for the people that will be sore about it, I'm accustomed to the candidate I vote for not winning (I don't vote for it based on the "odds" but who I think is best), but the "not a peep" part is really just basic psychology. In the real world, people are expected to marginally cheat (see: litany of experiments on cheating, most recently, Ariely's), and the dumbest of them get caught. In a system where corruption is growing, it means there's generally more cheating going on, by both sides. However, one side tries to go a little "further" than the other on occasion. The last I know of was 2000. I was on the losing end of that one too, and to this day I still believe Bush screwed a lot of Floridians out of votes. In this election, I can see systematic fraud far beyond the usual "minimal" amount expected, it's just almost impossible to place a finger on what it is. That's how cheating is done by design.

 

I just think that overall its a joke that this country can accurately pinpoint how to target an asteroid lander in space to capture samples (the equivalent of shooting a basketball across the country to land in a net like the Jordan/Bird McDonalds commercials) but can't figure out how to honestly and accurately vote. It's not that tough, it's that people don't want to, because they want to game the system for their own benefit. No difference than the complex and corrupt tax code set up to benefit the wealthiest and poorest and scare those of us in between to follow the rules.
