Oh yes. Predates me, even. Before his ex-wife came onto the scene, he lived pretty much on takeaways and ready meals. Then she decided that she was going to be in charge of feeding him properly and it was all home cooked meals, all the time. Packed lunches sometimes, with little notes and KitKats I am told. I am not THAT good of a wife!

So here's the deal with the KitKats: he asks for KitKats, so I buy KitKats. Then he eats the KitKats and asks me why I buy KitKats when he's just going to eat the KitKats and one day he is going to wake up and be fat (this is unlikely to happen any time soon, let alone from a daily mini-KitKat). So I don't buy KitKats and he asks where the KitKats are.

 

There is literally no way to win the KitKat situation.

He says the ones here are not as good as the ones at home. KitKats ditto but somehow they are more acceptable.

 

Getting ready to put the Xmas order in from British Corner Shop -- last year we over ordered crisps and ended up with 80 packets of different flavors of Walkers. Whoops.

Probably. Though we have found Topic bars and he is quite happy with those. I'll have to order another couple of those horrible Bird's trifle kits.  🤮 I know you have fond memories of Bird's, and the custard is okay, but not the trifle kit, no.

Speaking of candy, did they change the formula for Butterfinger in the US too? Gonna be a few months until my next trip and I keep forgetting to check. In Canada, Butterfingers taste like burnt peanut brittle (more burnt than usual) now.. they've committed the biggest sin imagineable and ruined one of the few chocolates I eat. Hopefully they didn't screw up the US version too.

I have not had a Butterfinger in a while. Maybe I will pick one up on the weekly shop tomorrow and do a taste test.

Some of the new ones have a red logo in one of the corners of the wrapper saying "improved recipe", there's another of them as well, but hopefully that helps. It also has a more slick and brighter yellowish color.
