Public Charge Form I-944

Hello,

I submitted my GC application (marriage based to US citizen) on 23rd September (they received it 29th by FedEx and we got notifications 2 weeks ago from USCIS). I didn't include the form I-944 since it wasn't required until 22nd September and I had no idea that changed on the 22nd.

Does anyone have any recommendation of what to do?  Will they just send me an RFI for this eventually? Or should I just fill it out now and submit it? If so, how do I attach it to my application, there doesn't seem to be a field for the Alien Number?

Thanks!

Wait for the RFE

I-944 is currently not needed. A judge vacated the requirement last week or so..

Google it

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

There is an ongoing appeal against that ruling.  Google it.

Until USCIS says otherwise, the I-944 form continues to be required.  But wait for the RFE before submitting anything.

Thanks for the update.

I last checked it the day it was vacated,  I think it was Monday 2nd November..

I'd wait for the RFE, if Biden gets elected, he wants to remove it anyway, so it may not even be required (again) soon.

But if you want to send it in, I believe just attaching a copy of your NoA1 or something with your alien number would be fine.
